Job Description:
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnosis and treatment of all surgical patients who are seeking health care
- Carry out routine and emergency minor surgical operations and other procedures
- Attend to emergency cases when needed and be on 24 hrs call
- Strictly practice infection prevention measures
- Liaise with other consultants on handling specialized cases in provision of patients' health care
- Referral of complicated cases to Regional Hospital
- Regularly monitor patients' progress and provide documentation
- Ensure complete daily documentation of patient case notes/files
- Ensure complete discharge, referral, and feedback procedures for patients
- Counsel patients and relatives on post-operative health management
- Maintain regular contact with the head of DH and district health officer
- Prepare timely and accurate medical reports, audits, and mortality reviews
- Ensure medical records activities are effectively implemented
- Provision of training, consultations for anesthesiologists, nurses, and other related staff
- Observe and comply with environmental health, occupational safety and Infection Prevention measures and regulations
- Conducting of HMIS and IP monthly review committee meeting.
- Performed daily visits of patients (OPD, IPD) to ensure that patients are treated with dignity and have a right to be treated in a respectful manner.
- Attend regular technical seminars/presentations and discussion according to the schedule.
- To ensure proper implementation of HMIS system.
- To work as Health facility in charge.
- Attend all meetings and training provided by NAC.
- Prepare all reports at the end of each month and submit to Gardiz office.

- Fluent in English, Pashto and Dari
Qualifications Required:
- Graduate from a recognized Medical University, General Surgery Specialist.
- Able to speak in English, Pasto and Dari.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Experience:
- Having 5 years’ experience in General Surgery / War Surgery.
Skills:
- Excellent skills in general, traumatology and war surgery.
- Excellent communication skills and knowledge of local communities.
- Good team player.
- Excellent health facility management skills.
- Excellent recording and reporting skill.
