1. Purpose of the Role

The Senior Data Analyst will lead the technical data analysis and synthesis of both quantitative and qualitative datasets gathered during the assessment. The analyst will ensure robust data integrity, develop data visualization products, and generate actionable insights to support the client's strategy, programming, and policy decisions.

2. Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for the following tasks:

Pre-Survey and Planning Phase

• Contribute to survey tool development, sampling plans, and data collection methodology.
• Review and validate questionnaire logic, flow, and coding structures (for tools like KoboToolbox or ODK).
• Define data quality assurance mechanisms and analysis framework aligned with TCPS outcomes and indicators.

Data Collection Phase

• Guide real-time data validation and troubleshooting during field data collection.
• Monitor incoming data for consistency, outliers, and completion rates.
• Coordinate with the field team to address data gaps or inconsistencies.

Data Analysis and Reporting Phase

• Clean, code, and organize quantitative data for statistical analysis.
• Analyze survey data using software tools (e.g., STATA, R, Python, SPSS).
• Analyze qualitative data (e.g., transcripts from FGDs and KIIs) using thematic coding tools (e.g., NVivo, Atlas.ti).
• Produce data visualizations and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
• Draft key findings, trends, and recommendations with disaggregation (gender, age, disability, geography).
• Contribute to the drafting of the full survey report and debriefing presentation materials.

• Bachelor's (Master's preferred) in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science or related field.
• +7 years of experience in data analytics (preferably in development or research).
•  Advanced Excel, SPSS, or R/Python skills.
• Experience with data collection tools (Kobo Toolbox, ODK, SurveyCTO).
• Fluent in Dari and/or Pashto; good command of English.
