Job Description:

The Senior Field Officer – Health and Nutrition is responsible for overseeing the day to day implementation including Supervision of health and nutrition activities at the field level, The role involves direct technical and operational support to health facilities, field teams, and community health structures. The Senior Field Officer also supports the Program manager, Project Manager  and the Provincial Deputy Health Manager in planning, monitoring, and reporting on project activities to ensure high-quality service delivery and program effectiveness.

Program Implementation and Supervision:
• Oversee the day-to-day implementation of health and nutrition services, in targeted health facilities and communities.
• Ensure adherence to national and organizational guidelines, protocols, and standards for health and nutrition, including IMNCI, IMAM, MIYCN, MCH, PSS and Vaccine.
• Support CHWs and health facility personnel through regular field visits, on-the-job training, and mentoring.
1. Oversee health and nutrition service delivery.
3. Monitor activities, support field staff, and conduct regular supervision.
4. Compile and submit accurate reports and data.
5. Coordinate with management team, local authorities, and stakeholders.
6. Manage stock levels and support supply chain processes.
7. Build staff capacity through training.
8. Assist in planning, organizing and participation in coordination meetings.
9. Maintain good record of all project key documents.

Coordination and Support:
• Act as a focal point between the field team and central management for operational coordination.
• Provide technical and administrative support to the Project Manager and Provincial Deputy Health Manager as needed.
• Coordinate with local authorities, health shuras, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project implementation.
• Support in the preparation of project documents, activity plans, donor reports, and proposals.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
• Collect, compile, and review field-level data for timely submission to the M&E and technical teams.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of health facilities reports, including stock balances and patient records.
• Participate in health and nutrition assessments, surveys, and regular performance monitoring.
• Contribute monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Capacity Building:
• Identify capacity gaps through conducting training need assessment.
• contribute to the planning and delivery of training sessions for field staff.

• Keep the project manager and PDHM update on the progress of implementation.
• Maintain good communication with project staff particularly with health facility team.

Job Requirements:
