Job Description:

1. Background

The BRIDGE project aims to promote the safety, well-being, and development of vulnerable groups, including children, women, and persons with disabilities, through access to protection services, psychosocial support, and community engagement. Case Workers play a vital role in identifying and addressing the needs of these groups by providing direct support and facilitating access to specialized services.

 

2. Scope of Work

The Case Worker will directly support vulnerable individuals and families, ensuring they receive quality case management services. This includes needs assessment, support planning, follow-up, and referrals to ensure comprehensive care and protection.

3. Key Responsibilities

  1. Initiate and respond to in-person telephone and written contact with victims and witnesses to provide factually accurate and timely case-related information.
  2. Conduct initial assessments to identify needs and vulnerabilities of individuals and families.
  3. Identify documents and provide case management processes for SOV at risk of protection concerns.
  4. Coordinate victim and witness management for SOV prosecutors at each prosecution stage.
  5. Develop and implement optimized support plans, ensuring active participation of beneficiaries.
  6. Provide direct support and guidance to address immediate and long-term needs.
  7. Provide referrals to and information regarding the availability of crisis intervention services for medical mental health and social services as well as legal referrals.
  8. Conduct regular follow-ups to monitor progress and address emerging challenges.
  9. Maintain files and online statistics for cases.
  10. Draft and submit regular activity reports based on project’s reporting requirements.
  11. Any other duties that may be assigned by the line manager.
  12. Build trust and maintain positive relationships with community members to identify protection concerns.
  13. Conduct community awareness sessions on protection, SOV, and available services.
  14. Support the establishment and capacity building of community-based protection mechanisms.
  15. Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date case files and records.
  16. Document all activities, including assessments, referrals, and follow-ups, in compliance with WASSA’s data protection policies.
  17. Submit timely and accurate reports on activities, challenges, and achievements to the Case Management Officer.
