Job Description:

The M&E Officer in Nangarhar leads the monitoring and evaluation of AWEC’s programs by developing and implementing M&E plans, conducting field visits, and ensuring accurate data collection and reporting. They support program compliance, assist with evaluations, and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance project effectiveness. This role requires strong communication skills, technical expertise, and dedicated oversight of project activities across targeted districts.

Responsibilities:

Contribute in developing of M&E plan.

Overseeing program conformity to assist program manager for right implementation of project plans.

Participate in the formulation of an M&E plan for the Unit as well as for the individual officer.

Become familiar with both the financial and narrative components of the contracts for the training providers being monitored.

Under take field visit to the project sites according to M&E plan and conduct periodic date gathering.

Design practical M&E tools for deferent projects.

Preparing of M&E report to communicate the data gathered to program and other stack holders.

Assist with program evaluation when necessary.

Oversee provincial staff regarding human resources, administration, and finances with guidance from AWEC main office departments.

Manage the documentation of M&E document in proper filling system

Conduct data gathering on all AWEC support center and other partners’ activities, including information on AWEC’s partners’ organizational development, target CSO capacity assessments, and trainings. 

Ensure that data is cleaned and accurate and submit it to donor

Assist donors of the project in designing and refining the project Management Information System if the asked.

Monitor AWEC’s grantees activities, including visiting project sites, comparing planned versus actual program results and reporting findings.

As requested, participate in project design and proposal development

Conduct filed visits to monitor project implementation status and address any inconsistencies noticed between program implementation and project goals.

Regular visit to 3 targeted districts and WGSS.

Support the M&E department with conducing M&E activities for other projects

Perform any other task as instructed by line manager.

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:

A Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Science, Statistics, Business Administration, Public Administration, law and political science and/ or a related field.

A Minimum of 4 years’ experience in MEAL roles, ideally within a multinational or complex organizational structure.

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong MEAL management knowledge.

Knowledge of best MEAL regulations and practices.

Ability to communicate clearly and have the potential to be able to train.

Highly organized and able to deliver results according to time-bound deadlines.

Must have exceptional interpersonal skills.

Must have strong communication skills.
