About Afghanistan Social and Legal Organization (ASLO):

ASLO is an Afghan non-governmental, non-political, non-profit and non-partisan organization and has the status of legal entity. The organization was informally established in 2012 and was officially registered with the ministry of economy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in 2013.

Job Description:
- Develop and implement WASH and DRR sector strategies, policies, and action plans.
- Lead the design and management of projects focusing on water supply systems, sanitation facilities, hygiene promotion, and disaster preparedness.
- Conduct needs assessments, feasibility studies, and risk analyses in target areas.
- Provide technical guidance on climate-resilient WASH infrastructure and community-based DRR approaches.
- Ensure integration of gender, protection, and environmental sustainability into program activities.
- Build capacity of field teams, local authorities, and communities on WASH standards and DRR measures.
- Oversee sector budgets, expenditures, and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
- Monitor project progress, prepare donor and management reports, and ensure accountability to beneficiaries.
- Coordinate with government authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and WASH/DRR clusters.
- Represent the organization in technical working groups and donor meetings.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Disaster Management, Public Health, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- At least 5–7 years of professional experience in managing WASH and/or DRR programs in humanitarian or development settings.
- Strong technical knowledge of water supply systems, sanitation facilities, hygiene promotion, and disaster preparedness.
- Familiarity with SPHERE standards, Sendai Framework for DRR, and other relevant international guidelines.
- Proven experience in project cycle management, donor compliance, and proposal writing.
- Excellent leadership, staff supervision, and capacity-building skills.
- Strong communication, coordination, and report-writing skills in English (knowledge of local languages is an asset).
- Ability to work in challenging environments and travel frequently to field locations.
