Job Description:
Position Description:
The Graphics & Web Designer (Officer) will prepare layouts for DACAAR’s visibility products including, newsletters, videos, success stories, annual reports, pamphlets, leaflets, etc. The incumbent will assist in taking and editing project photos and videos. He/ She will be responsible for designing, updating, and maintaining DACAAR’s English website. He/ She will work closely with the Grants Acquisition Coordinator and Communication officer to ensure DACAAR’s full compliance with donor visibility requirements and guidelines
Responsibilities:
- Take part in quarterly and annual work planning of the unit in close coordination with the Head of Fundraising and Communications and the Grants acquisition coordinator.
- Upgrade and maintain the DACAAR website and ensure that it is updated on a regular basis with current information about the organization. Website to be upgraded once per year to improve functionality and visibility.
- Assist in branding DACAAR’s external communications material and publications.
- Undertake graphic designing in support of all publications intended for printing and sharing outside the organization.
- Update system configurations, user permissions, and data collection forms as needed.
- Create templates for digital/print materials to standardize branding across programs.
- Collaborate with program teams to convert complex data into compelling visual narratives.
- Administer the MEAL data management system (Kobo Toolbox, CommCare, Power BI).
- Design IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials for field teams (posters, leaflets, training manuals).
- Review and refine designs based on feedback from Communications and MEAL teams.
- Design flyers, posters, banners, etc for specific events and conferences with the aim of promoting DACAAR externally.
- Work closely communication officer in support of the organization’s work and compile, edit, and print photos as assigned.
- Work closely with the Communications Officer to ensure compliance with donor visibility requirements and guidelines.
- The holder of this position must strictly follow the organization's existing security policies, procedures, and daily instructions of the safety personnel.
- Any other tasks given by the supervisor
Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Web Development, or related field is required
Experience: 3-4 years professional design experience is required but, (NGO sector experience will be preferred)
Other qualifications’ an advantage:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Experience with basic photo/video editing
Languages: Oral & Written fluency in English, Pashto and Dari is required.
