Position Overview:
The IT Manager will be responsible for leading ACDEO’s IT strategy and operations, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable IT systems that enhance organizational efficiency, knowledge management, and public visibility. The role combines both technical expertise and strategic management to align IT services with ACDEO’s mission and growth.
Duties & Responsibilities of IT Manager:
Under the general guidance of ACDEO’s Executive Director/Country Representative the IT Manager will perform the following substantive duties and responsibilities:
- Systems Development & Infrastructure:
- Maintain, upgrade, and secure ACDEO’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, databases, and cloud systems.
- Ensure robust data backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity protocols.
- Manage IT assets and licensing compliance.
- Website and Dashboard Management:
- Maintain, update, and strengthen ACDEO’s websites to ensure functionality, security, and user-friendliness.
- Design and manage dashboards for monitoring program performance, organizational KPIs, and decision-making support.
- Integrate data analytics tools to improve reporting and visibility.
- Call Center and Telephony Systems:
- Manage and optimize ACDEO’s call center platforms (FreePBX, Asterisk, FusionPBX, FreeSwitch).
- Configure, monitor, and maintain telephony solutions to support outreach, stakeholder engagement, and helpdesk services.
- Provide capacity-building support to staff on the effective use of communication platforms.
- Application Development & Optimization:
- Utilize basic to intermediate programming skills to optimize, customize, and integrate current applications.
- Support automation of workflows and digitalization of processes to improve efficiency.
- Develop or adapt small-scale applications as needed.
- Strategic IT Leadership:
- Develop and implement ACDEO’s IT strategy in alignment with organizational priorities.
- Lead continuous innovation to strengthen ACDEO’s digital presence and operational efficiency.
- Establish IT governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data security, compliance, and resilience.
- Technical Support & Capacity Building:
- Ensure timely and effective IT support to staff across all departments.
- Build the capacity of ACDEO staff in digital literacy, cybersecurity awareness, and use of organizational IT tools.
- Manage vendor relationships and outsourced IT services to ensure high-quality delivery.
Job Requirements:
Required Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT management, systems administration, and ICT strategy.
- Proven experience in managing call center platforms such as FreePBX, Asterisk, FusionPBX, and FreeSwitch.
- Demonstrated experience in website development and management (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, or equivalent).
- Practical experience with dashboard development and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or open-source equivalents).
