Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Clinical Mentor is responsible for providing on-the-job training, mentoring, role play, coaching, and supportive supervision to health facility staff, particularly clinical personnel (e.g., doctors, midwives, nurses). The goal is to improve the quality of healthcare services through knowledge transfer, skills development, and practical support in line with national guidelines and clinical protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular mentoring visits to health facilities.
- Observe, assess, and support clinical staff in the provision of essential health services.
- Ensure functionality of NICU, ORT Corners, MNH services in health facilities
- Analyze MNH indicators and apply MNDSR action points
- Identify gaps in clinical practice and provide targeted coaching to address them.
- Deliver hands-on training on clinical protocols (e.g., maternal and child health, IMCI, infection prevention, emergency care).
- Promote adherence to national clinical guidelines and standard treatment protocols.
- Support health workers in documentation, reporting, and maintaining medical records.
- Work closely with facility in-charges, supervisors, and technical advisors to improve service quality.
- Monitor progress through checklists, supportive supervision tools, and performance assessments.
- Provide feedback and report findings and recommendations to the management and technical team.
- Participate in capacity-building workshops and assist in organizing on-site trainings.
Job Requirements:
- Male: Medical degree (MD).
- Female: MD, Midwife
- At least 3–5 years of clinical experience, IMNCI, capacity building and mentorship, preferably in maternal and child health or primary healthcare.
- Previous experience in training, mentoring, or supervision is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with national clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills.
- Ability to travel to field sites regularly.
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
