Job Description:
Reports to: Education Project Manager / Education Program Head
Supervises: Trainers, Facilitators, and Teachers
Contract Type: Fixed-term
Purpose of the Role
The Master Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and overseeing high-quality training programs for teachers, facilitators, and education staff. The role ensures that staff gain the pedagogical, technical, and classroom management skills necessary to deliver inclusive, learner-centered, and child-protection-compliant education services.
Key Responsibilities
Training Design & Delivery

Develop training curricula, manuals, and materials in line with national education standards and organizational objectives.

Facilitate initial and refresher training sessions for teachers, facilitators, and education staff.

Adapt training methodologies to meet the needs of diverse participants, including women and individuals with varying literacy levels.
Capacity Building & Mentoring

Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and technical support to teachers and facilitators.

Conduct classroom observations to assess teaching quality and provide constructive feedback.

Strengthen teachers’ capacity in child-centered, gender-sensitive, and inclusive pedagogies.
Quality Assurance

Monitor the effectiveness of training through assessments, pre- and post-tests, and feedback sessions.

Ensure integration of cross-cutting themes such as child protection, gender equity, psychosocial support, and inclusion of children with disabilities.

Recommend improvements in training content and delivery methods based on field experience and feedback.
Coordination & Collaboration

Work closely with the Education Project Manager, Specialists, and M&E staff to align training with project objectives.

Liaise with government counterparts and education stakeholders to ensure consistency with national education priorities.

Represent the organization in education and teacher development forums when required.
Monitoring & Reporting

Track training attendance, participation, and outcomes.

Submit timely reports on training sessions, challenges, and recommendations.

Contribute to donor and organizational reporting requirements on capacity-building activities.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience

Master’s degree in Education, Teacher Training, or related field (Bachelor’s degree with extensive training experience may be accepted).

Minimum 5 years of experience in teacher training, curriculum development, or education program delivery.

Strong knowledge of active learning methodologies, participatory approaches, and inclusive education.

Experience mentoring or coaching teachers in classroom environments.

Familiarity with education in emergencies and child protection principles.

Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.

Proficiency in Dari and/or Pashto; working knowledge of English preferred.
