Job Description:
- Research & Needs Assessment:
- Conduct thorough research on issues related to health, agriculture, education, construction projects, and child welfare.
- Identify local needs and challenges and align proposals accordingly to address sector-specific priorities.
- Proposal Development & Writing:
- Write clear, well-structured, and persuasive proposals tailored to donor guidelines and sector requirements.
- Develop technically accurate and sector-relevant content for each proposal.
- Collaboration & Coordination:
- Work closely with program teams, sector experts, and field staff to gather accurate data and information.
- Coordinate with monitoring and evaluation teams to include project indicators and results in proposals.
- Sector-Specific Technical Knowledge:
- Apply specialized knowledge in health (e.g., primary healthcare, public health), agriculture (e.g., sustainable farming techniques), education (e.g., curriculum development, teacher capacity building), construction (e.g., safe building standards), and children (e.g., child rights, social protection).
- Stay updated on best practices and innovations within each sector.
- Budgeting & Resource Planning:
- Assist finance teams in preparing realistic budgets aligned with project activities and donor requirements.
- Ensure efficient and transparent use of resources in proposals.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all proposals comply with donor requirements, organizational standards, and ethical guidelines.
- Review and edit proposals to maintain accuracy, clarity, and quality.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain records of submitted proposals and donor feedback for continuous learning.
- Support preparation of progress and outcome reports related to funded projects.
- Communication & Representation:
- Represent the organization professionally in donor meetings and proposal review sessions.
- Promote gender sensitivity and child protection principles in all written communications and proposals.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in proposal writing or grant applications.
- Excellent writing, editing, and research skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of fundraising and donor landscapes is a plus.
