Job Description:
The Technical Coordinator will provide strategic technical leadership and oversight across projects, ensuring quality implementation and compliance with donor requirements and organizational standards. He will support program design, provide technical guidance to field teams, and ensure harmonization of technical approaches. The Technical Coordinator will also liaise with donors, government line departments, and partner organizations to strengthen program delivery and impact.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide overall technical guidance and support to project teams in planning, implementation, and monitoring.
- Lead in the development of technical proposals, project designs, and methodologies.
- Ensure that all projects meet technical quality standards, donor requirements, and organizational policies.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor implementation, provide feedback, and strengthen staff capacity.
- Coordinate with relevant government authorities, donors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with national strategies.
- Organize and lead training, workshops, and capacity-building sessions for technical staff.
- Support monitoring & evaluation (M&E) teams in developing technical indicators and tools.
- Review technical reports, BoQs, designs, and other project deliverables before submission.
- Ensure cross-cutting themes such as gender, protection, environment, and inclusion are mainstreamed in projects.
- Represent the organization in technical coordination forums, clusters, and donor meetings.
- Perform any other duties assigned by senior management in line with organizational objectives.

- Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Development Studies, or related technical field (Master’s degree preferred).
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in technical/project management roles with NGOs/INGOs.
- Proven experience in managing multi-sectoral projects (WASH, shelter, infrastructure, and Multi-Purpose cash distribution to affected people).
- Experience in report writing, donor compliance, and technical reporting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent technical knowledge in program design, engineering standards, and humanitarian principles.
- Good command of MS Office, AutoCAD (if engineering-focused), and project management tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Afghan local context and government regulation
- Fluency in Dari and Pashto – required.
- English – mandatory.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel frequently to project sites, including insecure and remote areas.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong representation and coordination skills with donors, authorities, and communities.
