AWEC has successfully implemented projects in Logar, Faryab, Kapisa, Khost, Panjshir, Wardak, Kabul, Balkh, Herat, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Badakhshan, Parwan, Paktia, Paktika, Laghman, Nuristan, and Bamyan provinces, maintaining an active presence in Kabul, Balkh, Herat, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Badakhshan, Parwan, Paktia, Paktika, Laghman, Nuristan, and Bamyan.

Job Description:
This role is pivotal in advancing organizational growth through strategic donor engagement and comprehensive fundraising initiatives. It involves building and nurturing relationships with major donors within the humanitarian response sector while identifying and securing diverse funding opportunities. The role encompasses developing compelling proposals, managing budgets, and ensuring organizational compliance with donor regulations, all aimed at strengthening the organization’s financial sustainability.
Additionally, the role focuses on enhancing the organization’s capacity to attract funds by maintaining robust grant tracking systems, supporting the development of annual fundraising strategies, and facilitating donor recognition efforts.
Responsibilities:
Build relationships with major donors in the humanitarian response sphere.
Identify potential grants including the following responsibilities.
Develops proposal budget models.
Complete application forms/proposals & EoI.
Conduct Provincial Assessment & Identify the gaps for developing Concept Notes&/Or Proposals for potential donors.
Review’s solicitation requirements and summarize for presentation.
Prepares and maintain internal tracking checklists and timeline documents.
Assists with grant extension requests, work plans, reports, etc.
Maintains grant calendar of upcoming application and reporting deadlines.
Developing Capacity Statements for AWEC & review/revise/update the current Capacity Statements for the organization, where it is needed.
Maintain databases for recording and tracking grant proposals, awards, and related statistical information.
Develop and updates the annual fundraising strategy of the organization.
Facilitate and supports the research and identification of funding opportunities on behalf of investigators, as appropriate.
Support AWEC program compliance with donor regulations and requirements; including reporting protocols, various donor reporting templates, donor approval policies and procedures, and award close-out procedures.
Overview of the implementation and execution of the organization’s fundraising strategy to meet year-end goals.
Supports the development of organizational-standardized processes and tools to be used for financial grant management.
Maintain all aspects of donor records in donor management database of individual, foundation and corporate donors to grow charitable giving.
Responsible for timely acknowledgment & recognition of donors and contributions as appropriate.
Any other task assigned by his/her supervisor.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
A Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Economics, Public Administration, Project Management, law and political science and/ or a related field. (Master’s degree holders preferred).
A Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in project management and development in humanitarian settings.
Knowledge and Skills:
Familiarity with program development context of Afghanistan.
Strong network across donors, communities and counterpart organizations.
Skilled in using Grants Management Systems (GMS) for project tracking, planning, and reporting.
Fluent in Dari, Pashto, and English, both written and verbal.
Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong interpersonal, coordination, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability and willingness to travel to field sites and work in challenging environments.
Proven track record in team management, coordination, and budget oversight.
Excellent planning, organizational, and leadership skills.
Familiarity with donor requirements and humanitarian principles.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Ability to work independently and flexibly while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
Strong report-writing and presentation skills.
