Job Description:

Driving and Transportation:

  • Safely drive the organization’s Mazda vehicle to transport staff, goods, and materials within Kabul and to other provinces as needed.
  • Ensure all driving activities comply with national traffic laws and organizational safety policies.
  • Follow approved routes and travel plans authorized by the supervisor.
  • Transport program materials, logistics supplies, and other items as directed.

Vehicle Maintenance:

  • Conduct daily checks of the vehicle’s condition (fuel, oil, water, brakes, tires, lights, etc.).
  • Ensure the vehicle is always clean, properly maintained, and ready for use.
  • Report immediately any mechanical problems, damages, or accidents to the supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks for every trip, recording mileage, fuel usage, and destination.
  • Ensure that all vehicle documents (registration, insurance, and logbook) are up to date and kept in the vehicle.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure the safety of all passengers and goods being transported.
  • Follow security and travel guidance provided by the organization when traveling to provinces.
  • Ensure compliance with the organization’s code of conduct, policies, and road safety standards.

Support and Logistics:

  • Assist the logistics and operations team with transportation and delivery of office materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Support in the loading and unloading of goods as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Valid Afghan driver’s license (category appropriate for Mazda truck/vehicle).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional driving experience, preferably with national or international organizations.
  • Familiarity with routes between Kabul and provincial areas.
  • Good understanding of vehicle maintenance and basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Ability to read and write basic Dari or Pashto (English is an advantage).
  • Proven record of reliability, honesty, and safe driving history.

4. Competencies:

  • Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and discipline.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and travel to remote or challenging areas when required.
  • Respectful behavior towards colleagues, community members, and authorities.

5. Working Conditions:

  • Based in Kabul Main Office, with frequent travel to the other provinces depending on operational needs.
  • May be required to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays when necessary.
  • Must follow all security and travel protocols issued by the organization.

6. Reporting Line:

The Mazda Driver will report directly to the Logistics Officer and will work under the supervision of the Admin/Operations Department.
