AAMS seeks a high-performing Branch Manager with a dual mandate: (i) strong banking and operational control and (ii) proactive business development through marketing, PR, and social mobilization. The Branch Manager will lead the branch team to achieve operational and growth targets, ensure client satisfaction, and maintain compliance with institutional and regulatory standards, while building AAMS’s profile with communities, media, and local stakeholders.
General Responsibilities:
- Own branch P&L delivery: drive portfolio growth, on-time recoveries, and cost discipline while safeguarding asset quality (PAR control).
- Ensure adherence to AAMS policies, procedures, and Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) regulations with Sharia-compliant execution across all products.
- Lead branch-level marketing, PR, and outreach plans to generate quality demand, strengthen brand visibility, and support women/youth inclusion.
- Maintain service excellence, timely client resolution, and ethical selling aligned with client protection standards.
- Represent AAMS with community leaders, business associations, media, and local authorities to expand responsible outreach.
- Build a performance culture: set KPIs, coach staff, and enforce accountability with regular reviews.
Specific Responsibilities:
Banking & Operations
- Lead branch operations including supervision of staff, client onboarding, documentation, disbursements, cash management, and end-of-day controls.
- Achieve branch targets for disbursement, recovery, cross-sell of Sharia-compliant products, and client growth while maintaining portfolio quality.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare timely operational/financial reports; ensure strong audit readiness.
- Use MIS dashboards to track pipeline, TAT, PAR, and productivity; implement corrective actions quickly.
Marketing, PR & Business Development
- Design and execute a quarterly branch marketing plan (events, business forums, merchant partnerships, digital/community campaigns) tied to measurable acquisition targets.
- Develop local PR and visibility (success stories, radio/community announcements, NGO/business chamber linkages) in coordination with AAMS communications.
- Build referral networks (traders, women’s groups, youth entrepreneurs, suppliers) to source quality clients ethically.
Social Mobilization & Inclusion
- Lead community mobilization sessions on financial literacy and Sharia-compliant products; ensure outreach in peri-urban and rural catchments.
- Engage shuras, CDCs, women’s groups, and youth clubs to expand responsible market access and support enterprise growth.
- Ensure safe, respectful collection practices; uphold client dignity and grievance redress mechanisms.
People & Compliance
- Recruit, train, and mentor Asset Officers and teller/ops teams; run weekly coaching on sales ethics, documentation, and recovery discipline.
- Ensure zero tolerance for fraud and misconduct; promptly address compliance gaps and implement audit recommendations.
- Coordinate with Manager–Operations, CFO/Finance, Compliance/MIS teams for smooth controls, reconciliations, and reporting.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience:

Technical Skills
- Strong command of branch controls, underwriting basics, PAR management, and Sharia-compliant procedures (e.g., Murabaha flows and documentation).
- Hands-on marketing/PR capability: campaign planning, community events, stakeholder engagement, and basic content coordination.
- Proficiency in MS Office and core banking/MIS; data-driven decision making.
Behavioral Competencies
- Sales leadership with integrity, client-centricity, and disciplined follow-through.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills; comfort engaging media/community leaders.
- Fluency in English, Dari, and Pashto; strong report writing in English.
