Job Description:
The Technical Implementer Engineer will oversee and supervise the implementation of water system repairs, ensuring that works are completed to high standards and within the project timeline. The role is critical for restoring safe and reliable water access for earthquake-affected communities.
Responsibilities:
Supervise the implementation of water system repairs in target villages.
Ensure repair works meet quality and safety standards.
Monitor progress and address technical challenges.
Coordinate with local contractors and suppliers.
Document and report on implementation activities.
Ensure compliance with WASH Cluster standards.
Participate in regular coordination meetings.
Support the procurement process for repair materials.
Ensure gender-sensitive and inclusive implementation considerations.
Contribute to MEAL activities and reporting.
Promote a safe and respectful working environment.
Support the referral pathway for technical issues.
Ensure timely completion of repair works.
Provide technical support during the design and implementation phases.
Facilitate post-repair monitoring and evaluation.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or a related technical field.
A Minimum of 5 years of experience in WASH infrastructure design and implementation.
Knowledge and Skills:
Proven experience in using engineering design tools such as AutoCAD, Water GEM, Civil 3D, or similar software.
Sound understanding of SPHERE and WASH Cluster standards.
Good analytical, reporting, and documentation skills.
Strong communication skills in English, Pashto, and Dari.
Ability to travel frequently to remote field sites and work under challenging conditions.
Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to humanitarian values and community empowerment.
Precision and attention to detail in design and supervision.
Strong problem-solving and field coordination abilities.
Respectful collaboration with communities and stakeholders.
