SEO is a local NGO founded in 2008 to assist in humanitarian aid, education, returnees, internally displaced people (IDPs), economic development, demand-driven vocational training, apprenticeship, income generation projects, and legal assistance. SEO's current projects in Afghanistan include emergency response, food assistance distribution, education, legal Assistance, and economic growth for marginalized populations, returnees, internally displaced persons, and vulnerable families.

Purpose of the Position:

The Business Development Expert will lead the design and implementation of enterprise diagnostics, growth strategies, and capacity-building interventions for Women-Owned Businesses . This position focuses on helping female entrepreneurs identify growth bottlenecks, improve business performance, and achieve long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed business diagnostics for selected Women-Owned Businesses using the organization’s standard assessment tools.
• Co-develop customized Growth and Sustainability Plans that address business performance, marketing, financial management, and operational efficiency.
• Deliver tailored training and mentoring sessions covering business planning, recordkeeping, financial literacy, cost control, and customer management.
• Provide ongoing advisory support to women entrepreneurs in developing investment priorities, expanding product lines, and improving competitiveness.
• Track and report key business performance indicators (KPIs), including revenue growth, cost reduction, margin improvement, and inventory turnover.
• Facilitate linkages with suppliers, buyers, and financial service providers as part of the Women businesses’ business development pathway.
• Document success stories, lessons learned, and case studies for donor reporting.
• Support the integration of gender and social inclusion principles across all enterprise support activities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Management; a Master’s degree is an asset.
• Minimum 3 years’ professional experience supporting MSMEs, women’s entrepreneurship, or enterprise development programs.
• Strong understanding of financial literacy, business planning, marketing, and operational improvement techniques.
• Experience in mentoring, coaching, or training entrepreneurs.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with gender-responsive and inclusive business approaches.
• Willingness to travel to target provinces.
