Job Description:
The Nutrition Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the nutrition-related aspects of the project. This role involves supervising nutrition programs, ensuring the quality of services, and providing guidance to field staff.
- Responsible for the overall nutrition (IMAM) activities in the Province.
- Responsible for designing and establishing an effective and supportive supervision system within the project.
- Visit the IPD, OPD SAM sites, GM, and MIYCN program on a regular basis and find out the deviations from the set targets and standards, identify weak areas, and find reasonable and proper solutions
- Ensure adherence to national and international nutrition guidelines and standards.
- Oversee the collection of nutrition data and indicators.
- Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Prepares timely nutrition project reports, provides feedback, prepares action plans, and follow up
- Responsible for organizing nutrition initial and refresher training for existing HF staff/ CHWs and CHSs that will be conducted based on the work plan.
- Promotes support to HPs through CHS and community health Shuras regarding the nutrition program.
- Compiles reports generated by IPD/OPD SAM sites, GM, IYCF, and MNT and prepares summary reports in the nutrition database.
- Ensure the health facilities have functional and proper IPD/OPD SAM sites.
- Ensure that all supplies and food commodities are available in each health facility
- Ensure to establish an effective mechanism to prevent from shortage of food commodities in the HFs
- Ensure safe, clean, and proper storage of all supplies and other food commodities within the warehouse.
- Engage with local communities to raise awareness about nutrition and health issues.
- Supervising the consumption of nutritional supplements at the HF level.
- Prepare regular reports on nutrition program performance.
- Maintain accurate records of program activities and outcomes.
- Any other task assigned by his/her supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's in Curative Medicine, Nursing, Nutrition, or Public Health
- At least 3 years of Proven experience in nutrition program supervision and implementation.
- Knowledge of national and international nutrition guidelines and standards.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with Afghan nutrition programs and community engagement is a plus.
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken); knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
