Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance (CHA) is a non-governmental, non-profitable, and non-political Afghan NGO, working since 1987 mainly in agriculture, health, education, and infrastructure sectors in more vulnerable areas of the country. CHA is working through the implementation of Emergency, rehabilitation, and development projects for emergency aid for war, famine, and natural disaster-affected families in the field, to assist with the rehabilitation of rural and urban life, and to work with communities for sustainable development in Afghanistan.

Job Description:
o Provide overall leadership and management for the First Foods Initiative project in the assigned province.
o Ensure all project activities (e.g., support to microenterprises, MNP distribution, recipe book promotion, Madar Kitchen sessions, WASH kit distribution) are implemented on schedule and meet quality standards.
o Prepare and submit timely and accurate progress reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to the Project Coordinator.
o Directly supervise and mentor a provincial team, including Mobilizers, Master Trainers, Hygiene Promoters, Value Chain Trainers, and Marketing Officers.
o Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and identify capacity-building needs for the team.
o Ensure the team is well-integrated and working collaboratively towards common project objectives.
o Leverage medical and public health expertise to provide technical guidance on health, nutrition, and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) components.
o Oversee the quality of training sessions conducted by Master Trainers for Community Health Workers (CHWs) and Nutrition Counselors.
o Ensure that agriculture and value-chain activities are effectively integrated to support the production and marketing of nutritious foods.
o Guarantee that WASH promotion and kit distribution are conducted effectively to support hygienic food preparation.
o Monitor the establishment and functioning of Madar Innovation Kitchens and Mother-to-Mother Circles.
o Serve as the primary focal point for the project in the province, representing CHA with provincial government authorities (e.g., Provincial Health Directorate, Agriculture Directorate), UN agencies (UNICEF, WFP, FAO), and other partners.
o Actively participate in provincial-level Nutrition and WASH meetings.
o Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, private sector actors, SMEs, and women-led groups to ensure community ownership and smooth implementation.
o Implement and promote community-based feedback and reporting mechanisms, including ensuring beneficiaries are aware of Child Safeguarding and PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) reporting channels.
o Document success stories, lessons learned, and best practices from the field.
Job Requirements:
o Education: Medical Doctor, from a recognized university.
o Experience: Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in managing integrated projects, preferably prior work experience in projects that integrate health, nutrition, and livelihoods is a significant asset.
o Proven experience in directly supervising and managing a diverse team of field staff.
o Experience working with international NGOs, UN agencies, or government programs preferred.
