About Afghan Youth Services Organization (AYSO):
Afghan Youth Services Organization (AYSO) is a National Afghan NGO registered in 2006 with the MoEc of Afghanistan with registration No:397.AYSO since came into being has developed, successfully implemented, and provided direct assistance services in different sectors such as health, educational, Food Security, Capacity building, GBV Prevention and Response, Peace, Justice Research, and Surveys human rights and awareness projects and programs with the technical and financial support of several UN Agencies such as UNDP,UNFPA, UNICEF, WFP, and WHO, AYSO has implemented projects with government ministries and departments as well as has been being implementing partner with AAH/USAID, FHI, BARC, AADA,HEWAD, and other National and International Organization.
Job Description:
Scope of work
The RMNCAH Manager will provide technical leadership and mentorship to strengthen the capacity and performance of AYSO project teams and service providers in Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH). The Manager will ensure high-quality service delivery across all AYSO project sites, with a particular focus on BPHS/HIVA initiatives.
The Manager oversees all aspects of reproductive health care activities within AYSO-supported health facilities, including planning, organizing, implementation, supervision, and ongoing monitoring.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to improve the quality of RMNCAH service delivery and support AYSO teams in family planning, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health programs.
- Develop and implement evidence-based clinical training materials, standards, supervisory systems, and post-training follow-up mechanisms.
- Contribute to the development, modification, and implementation of mentorship approaches to strengthen care quality across AYSO project areas.
- Plan, organize, and oversee comprehensive reproductive health services integrated into primary health care.
- Supervise and monitor health facilities regularly to ensure quality and adherence to AYSO standards.
- Check and analyze RH and HMIS activities monthly and provide timely reports of RMNCAH activities from all AYSO-supported health facilities.
- Identify and report any issues that may interfere with service delivery or achievement of program objectives to immediate supervisors.
- Participate in donor and MoPH RH taskforces and other relevant working groups.
- Contribute in conducting health education sessions to raise awareness on RTI/STDs, HIV prevention, breastfeeding, weaning, immunization, malnutrition, TT vaccination, and early detection of breast and cervical cancer.
- Provide regular technical support to female service providers to support mothers and communities in improving family planning knowledge and access to contraceptives.
- Promote safe motherhood practices by providing training, refresher courses, and clean delivery kits, and by establishing referral systems to prevent neonatal and maternal morbidity and mortality.
- Facilitate and support capacity-building initiatives for RMNCAH, including both virtual and in-person capacity building programs, and provide guidance to health teams on the implementation of RMNCAH and HIVA-related services.
- Manage the RMNCAH team and provide technical support to ensure continuous guidance in clinical and programmatic areas.
- Facilitate and participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions for AYSO teams.
- Share challenges, lessons learned, and technical expertise within internal and external forums.
- Ensure proper documentation and knowledge management of all clinical and technical activities.
- Conduct regular visits to AYSO project sites to monitor activities, provide on-site support, and ensure quality RMNCAH service delivery.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor or Program Coordinator.
- Ensure compliance with AYSO operational policies, risk management guidelines, and other organizational procedures.
Job Requirements:
- Graduate degree or postgraduate clinical degree (OB/GYN – Female preferred).
- 5-7 years of experience in the health sector, with demonstrated expertise in RMNCAH training and capacity development of health service providers.
- Experience working with NNGOs and INGOs, especially in RMNCAH
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams to achieve measurable results.
- Master of Public Health (MPH) is an advantage.
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and technical capacity-building skills.
- Ability to work successfully in diverse teams, under pressure, and manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
- Excellent facilitation, team-building, and coordination abilities.
- Strong communication, analytical, and report-writing skills in Dari, Pashtu, and English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to represent AYSO projects at national and partner-level meetings.
