Job Description:
The ICT and Communication Officer plays a key role in supporting the organization’s technology systems and ensuring clear, effective communication across all departments. This position helps keep digital tools, hardware, and software running smoothly so staff can work efficiently and safely. It also contributes to building a strong communication presence by assisting in the creation, management, and delivery of information both inside the organization and to the public.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain and troubleshoot IT infrastructure, including computers, servers, printers, and networking equipment.
- Monitor and maintain organization’s network (LAN/WAN), internet connectivity, and Wi-Fi systems.
- Ensure regular data backups, system updates, and antivirus protection.
- Provide technical support and guidance to staff on IT systems, software, and communication tools.
- Assist in user account creation, password management, and access control.
- Support internal and external communication efforts, including newsletters, announcements, and reports.
- Assist in developing content for social media, website updates, and digital campaigns.
- Maintain the organization’s communication tools and equipment, such as projectors, teleconferencing tools, and phone systems.
- Ensure proper documentation of communication materials and digital archives.
- Monitor IT systems to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with organizational policies.
- Support implementation of data protection and cybersecurity measures.
- Maintain organized digital filing systems for organizational documents and media.
- Provide technical support to staff on IT and communication tools.
- Conduct training for staff on digital tools, software applications, and communication platforms.
- Assist in creating user manuals and IT/communication SOPs for organizational use.
- Maintain records of ICT and communication activities, incidents, and technical support provided.
- Prepare reports on IT infrastructure, usage, and operational issues.
- Support documentation for donor reporting and internal audits related to ICT systems.
- Provide IT related training to all the staff
- Ensure all ICT and communication activities comply with MHCO’s policies, safeguarding, and PSEA standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of organizational, staff, and beneficiary data.
- Report IT security incidents or breaches promptly.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years experience in IT management, ICT support, or communication in an NGO or humanitarian setting.
- Knowledge of Windows, MS Office, networking, and basic troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with IT hardware, printers, routers, and antivirus software.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Oral and written fluency in (English, Dari, Pashto)
