Job Description:
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement tailored marketing, branding, and sales strategies for beneficiary agribusinesses to improve market access and competitiveness.
- Organize Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings, trade fair participation, and digital marketing initiatives to create sustainable market linkages.
- Train entrepreneurs on market research, product pricing, contract negotiation, sales techniques, and customer relationship management.
- Support product development, quality grading, packaging, and labeling to meet national and potential export market standards.
- Document all market linkage activities, outcomes, and success stories for project reporting and learning.
- Conduct detailed market scans to identify potential buyers, distributors, wholesalers, and retailers for key products from supported enterprises.
- Design and oversee the production of standardized branding, labeling, and packaging prototypes for a selection of high-potential agri-products.
- Plan, budget, and manage the participation of beneficiary businesses in at least 2 major domestic or regional trade fairs and exhibitions.
- Facilitate and support the negotiation and signing of formal supply contracts or off-take agreements between producers and reliable buyers.
- Develop and pilot a digital marketing and e-commerce strategy for a select group of entrepreneurs to explore online sales channels.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in marketing, sales, or business development, preferably within the agriculture, food processing, or FMCG sectors in Afghanistan.
- Donor Experience: Experience contributing to private sector development or market systems components of large international projects is an asset.
- Technical Skills: Proven success in helping SMEs access new markets, increase sales, and develop commercial partnerships.
- Languages: Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto is essential. Good command of English is required.
