Job Description:
The School WIFS Master Trainer will conduct training sessions for Schools’ Teachers and orientation sessions for PTA/SMS. The trainer will be primarily responsible for the effective and efficient management of training activities, providing technical support, supervising WIFS implementation in schools, ensuring accurate reporting, and coordinating program activities as required.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of the School WIFS program across targeted schools in all the districts of the select provinces in coordination with provincial health and education authorities.
- Develop a training plan in collaboration with project management, finance, and relevant departments to ensure the timely availability of resources.
- Prepare and design the training material, including training schedule, pre-and post-evaluation forms, PPT, etc.
- Engage local authorities, school management, and communities to ensure understanding of the School WIFS program and support volunteer selection according to program criteria.
- Facilitate School WIFS and nutrition-related trainings for Teachers, PTA, and SMS.
- Provide technical guidance and support to school teachers in the implementation of Iron and Folic Acid (IFA) and Albendazole distribution according to the program plan
- Conduct supportive supervision at school sites and provide technical assistance to teachers.
- Assist the project coordinator in developing monthly activity plans and reports.
- Establish effective coordination mechanisms with school authority, relevant stakeholders including the PEDs and DEDs for proper program implementation.
- Prepare and organize training venues, facilitator kits, and other job aids in coordination with logistics and program staff.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to school teachers during school sessions.
- Conduct refresher training sessions to teachers to deliver weekly iron and folic acid supplementation and nutrition education for students.
- Be prepared for extensive travel; approximately 80% of work time will be in targeted schools
- Perform any other project activities assigned by the provincial coordinator
Job Requirements:
- Kunar, Laghman and Nuristan provinces, couple will be preferred
- Diploma in medical or nutrition-related fields (Nutrition, Public Health, Nurse, Midwife.) or bachelor’s degree in Public Health or Nutrition from an accredited university.
- Minimum three years of experience in school health or BPHS-related projects.
- Having report writing skills
- Strong local knowledge
- Candidate should be self-disciplined and motivated, critical thinkers who are willing to work under peruse to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Fluency in Pashto, Dari, and English is preferred (written and spoken).
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the targeted districts.
