Tdh has been working in Afghanistan since 1995 and carry out projects related to Child Protection, Mother and Child health and Livelihood Programs in Kabul, Balkh, Kunar and Nangarhar provinces.
Job Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and Child protection advisor (technically) at Kabul, the Project Assistant for Nangarhar/Kunar is in charge of the overall implementation of the project components in (Nangarhar/Kunar province).
The Project Assistant based in Nangarhar provides technical inputs/support to projects staff in close collaboration with project manager and Child protection advisor, and operational teams.
The STJ Project Assistant is responsible to provide the support to the project manager on supervising of the work of Social worker and social animators.
The Project Assistant is responsible to give written feedback to the project manager for the supervision of the child protection activities program being implemented.
The project assistant support the project manager with the report writing, data collection and preparing success stories.
The Project Assistant will be responsible for his team security, He/she has to make sure the districts the team visits are safe as well as the routes are prior checked with security links in the areas, the team should be time to time briefed about security measures taken into consideration.
Project assistant make weekly and monthly action and monthly activities’ plan for the social workers and animators staff and the Project Assistant himself/herself.
Project assistant is responsible for developing the weekly report and shared with the line manager on timely manner and Regular visits to the working districts with the teams identify the strength and weaknesses to support and look for the success story of the intervention.
Coordinate with the provincial governmental authorities (DoEc , Governor house, Line departments, district administration etc ) for, reports and confirmation letter etc.
To help reduce the risk of child protection by visiting to each CFSs and making accurate assessments of risk factors.
The project Assistant responsible to monitor and supervise the activities relate to child protection in Nangarhar/Kunar province. He/she support the MEAL on development of MEAL tools for better monitoring of the outcome of the project activities.
Main responsibilities:

Monitor, check and analyze the social workers, animators, team activities, offering professional support as required.

Monitor and supervise the project activities according to the project objective, goal, outcome and output and provide the feedback on the progress of the project activities to the project manager and Child Protection advisor.

Train the staff and provide follow-up for continuous of the project outcome.

Participate in training sessions and meetings according to the Project Coordination requirements

Representing the Tdh organization with government authority (DoLSA, DoEc) and other services, UN agencies in consultation with program coordinator and Child Protection advisor.

Support the M&E assistant on the collection of Qualitative and quantitative data to ensure data analysis of the project

Providing the progress reporting of the project activities base on the need of the stakeholder and as required by line manager (s)

Identify and report immediately about problems that may jeopardize the programme goals

Serves as a positive role model for the organization

To be able to monitor and supervise the child protection unit in the Nangarhar/Kunar and provide feedback to the Child Protection Unit.

Protection

Protection: Use observation skills to detect any behavioral changes or specific vulnerability in children that may be reason for concern and share these observations with immediate supervisor and social workers team at joint weekly staff meetings to determine appropriate responses.

Ensure that all child protection related activities are in line with child protection minimum relevant standards and enhance program / activities based on CPMS.
Cash distribution

Worked closely with the social worker for developing of the selection criteria with the support of the reginal manager and child protection manager.

Support the logistic dept on the identifying the financial service provider in the region.

Support the social worker for the identified the proper place for the distribution side.

Coordinate and invite the relevant authority to the distribution

Undertake to ensure the best possible practical implementation of the safeguarding policy (Global Code of conduct) and the management of operational risks in his/her area of intervention and within his/her team.

Conduct field visits with the consent of line manager who check the security of the area prior.

Report instantly if you observe any security threat, heard any report any suspicion, rumors about the safety of the staff and its beneficiaries

Strictly follow Tdh security policy and regional security plan.

Ensure and facilitate prompt sharing of information and action on all events relating to security issues.

Job Requirements:
Education :
-
University degree holder specially in project management, education and social sience.
Experience / Skills :
-
3 years’ working experience with the protection project, specially in child protection.
-
In-depth knowledge and understanding of current evidence-based obstetric care.
-
Experience in applying Behavior Change Communication models.
Languages:
-
Fluency in oral and written communication in English, including representation, liaison and negotiation skills in ( Pashto and Dari).
IT knowledge :
-
Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
