Job Description:
- Supervising & Leading AML/TM team.
- Oversees the identification, assessment, and escalation of suspicious activities, ensuring high‑quality STR/SAR drafting and submission.
- Provides guidance to team members on red flags, typologies, and quality standards for STR/SAR reporting.
- Acts as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on matters related to LCTR, STR/SAR, and FIU requests.
- Post review the alerts as L2 on a daily basis according to assigned parameters set in the OFSAA AML system for further analysis and processing.
- Ensue those alerts and cases are assessed, investigated and narrated accurately as per AML SOP and the required and factual information are available in all narratives
- Reviewing internal and external audit reports timely and bringing improvements as required to ensure that deficiencies and errors are largely minimized
- Ensure all the source of fund documents are accurately review by team member.
- Proper follow up of cases with branches for closure of the case within time frame.
- Establishing trail for confirming the source/destination of funds received from Branches as a supporting document for Alerts.
- Monitoring, review and analysis of different types of transactions and products as assigned by Chief Compliance as per defined Procedure.
- Monitors and reconciles the data being received from the source systems
- Fine-tunes the thresholds in accordance with changes in the risk profile of the Organization.
- Assure the accuracy of parameters, for the alerts being generated in line with the product, transactions and processes.
- Preparing of Consolidated MIS related to all activities performed such as Alerts handling, escalation, and case investigation
- STR Reporting under confirmation of Chief Compliance Officer.
- Investigates such alerts and referrals and files STRs with the appropriate financial intelligence unit (FIU) as required.
- Monitors alerts generated on customer transactions, such as those from automated systems and referrals from internal staffs.
- Follow up on any failure delivery status or observations raised by FinTRACA for STR reporting.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of Large Cash Transaction Reporting requirements, including thresholds, timelines, data accuracy, and regulatory expectations.
- Ensures timely review, validation, and submission of LCTR reports in accordance with national AML/CFT regulations.
- Review & Response to DAB/FIU/LEAs enquiries in coordination with Dy Chief compliance if any.
- Establish a contribution-free system for branch staff to report suspected activities/transactions.
- Performed any other task which is assigned By Chief Compliance Officer/Dy. Chief Compliance Officer.
Job Requirements:
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or ICA (International Compliance Association) certification are preferred.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in anti-money laundering, transaction monitoring, or compliance, with at least 1 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven expertise in financial crime compliance and regulatory requirements for banking institutions.
Competencies Required
- In-depth knowledge of AML regulations, transaction monitoring systems, and sanction screening protocols.
- Familiarity with banking operations, products, and services, and their associated money laundering risks.
- Strong analytical skills to review and investigate suspicious transactions.
- Proficiency in using transaction monitoring software and reporting tools.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills in high-pressure scenarios.
