Job Description:
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Receive, review, and record daily bills and financial documents in the official MOF ledger in accordance with MOF rules and manuals.
- Accurately calculate, prepare, and process monthly salary tax, ensuring timely payment and compliance with MOF regulations.
- Calculate and process office rent tax on a monthly basis and ensure timely submission to MOF.
- Calculate, deduct, and process contractual taxes in accordance with applicable tax laws and contractual terms.
- Calculate and process other applicable taxes as required under Afghan tax laws and MOF regulations.
- Prepare, complete, and submit all taxation forms accurately and within prescribed deadlines.
- Efficiently use and manage the MOF online taxation system, ensuring accuracy of uploaded data and records.
- Prepare and issue salary tax letters and confirmations to NSS employees upon request and as officially required.
- Attend and represent the organization in tax-related meetings, reviews, audits, or inquiries at MOF or other relevant government departments when required.
- Verify and cross-check daily bills and supporting documents in compliance with the MOF Taxation Manual and internal financial controls.
- Maintain organized and auditable tax records, files, and correspondence for internal and external audits.
- Perform any other duties related to taxation and compliance as assigned by the Line Manager, General Manager, CEO, or President.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration, or a related field. A postgraduate degree in a related field is highly desirable.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in taxation, accounting, or finance.
- Strong working knowledge of Afghan tax laws and MOF regulations
- Practical experience with the MOF online taxation system
- Ability to interpret and apply the MOF Taxation Manual
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and basic accounting software
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Effective communication and coordination skills
- Problem-solving and analytical mindset
- Fluency in English Pashto and Dari (written and spoken)
