Job Description:

The Female Protection Officer (Livelihood), in collaboration with the Male Protection Officer, will be responsible for the overall implementation, management, coordination, and reporting of the livelihood component of OMID’s Protection Project for earthquake affected households in Mazar Dara/Valley, Nurgal District, Kunar Province.

The position requires strong technical expertise in agriculture, livelihoods, and community mobilization, coupled with a good understanding of protection and gender-sensitive programming. The incumbent will lead livelihood-related activities, ensuring inclusive participation of women and vulnerable community members.

She will also serve as the focal point between targeted beneficiaries, community structures, and OMID’s district office in Nurgal district, ensuring effective coordination and high-quality project delivery in line with donor and organizational standards.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (required).
  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (preferred).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in implementing agriculture and livelihood projects with national or international organizations.
  • Previous experience in protection or gender-focused programming is an asset.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of humanitarian and development principles, community empowerment, and protection programming (including GBV prevention and gender mainstreaming).
  • Excellent report writing, analytical, and communication skills in English.
  • Proven ability in project implementation, community mobilization, and coordination with stakeholders.

Core Competencies:

  • Strong communication, coordination, and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent training, presentation, and community engagement abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • High degree of flexibility, initiative, and problem-solving capability.
  • Fluency in English, Pashto, and Dari.
