Rural Rehabilitation Association for Afghanistan (RRAA) is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political NGO established in 1990. The head office of the organization is in Kabul, Afghanistan, and delivers humanitarian services in the sectors of Livelihood, Local Governance, WASH, and Emergency through its four regional offices in Mazar, Herat, Jalalabad, and the central zone in a decentralized manner.
Job Description:
General Project Tasks
- Lead, manage, and coordinate day-to-day planning, implementation, and management of project activities according to the project document and project log frame.
- Coordinate implementation of agriculture, NRM, and other livelihood activities within the scope of the project as well as with line departments and local (district) authorities.
- Reporting to the Regional Manager/Donor, and responsible for all activities of the program.
- Responsible for implementing the project in accordance with the approved work plan, budget plan, and timeline.
- Coordinate project activities with relevant stakeholders (donor, government, community, and NGOs)
- Supervise and manage the human resources of the project.
- Responding to the complaints and issues raised in the project.
- Monitoring the project activities regularly and reporting any issues to the Regional Manager. Also, develop a corrective action plan for the findings of project monitoring officers.
- Regular communication with the targeted communities, and relevant government organizations in the province/region.
- Regular trips to the project districts, and Kabul province
Community Awareness
- Ensure the targeted communities are fully aware of overall project activities.
- Responsible for fair and proper selection of project beneficiaries. Ensure the process is accomplished in a free-from-discrimination environment.
- Ensure proper distribution of tools, materials, etc. to beneficiaries. Also, make sure proper capacity buildings are provided to them.
- Supervise the process of beneficiary monitoring and provision of on-time monitoring reports.
- Cooperate closely with community representatives in deciding community priorities.
- Encourage, introduce, and develop community participation and contribution to the project if needed.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Prepare budget plans, control project budget, and comment on any deviation during the year.
- Prepare work plans for the staff on a quarterly, monthly, and weekly basis.
- Train field staff and provide directions on work management and discipline.
- Identify local supply sources for materials needed in the project.
- Ensure effective utilization of all resources (equipment, information, staff) in the project.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and work plans to the Regional Manager/donor
- Ensure project budget is effectively managed and accounts are cleared by the end of each month.
- Supervise the project work by being directly involved in the fieldwork.
- Fulfil other administrative duties assigned by the Regional Manager
Job Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in agriculture and a master’s degree is a plus.
- Fluent in Dari and Pashtu and Excellent in English skill
- Technical skills for the job are a must but technical skills to strengthen agriculture and livelihood are ultimately required.
- Ability to work in a team, often under stressful conditions, with both International and national staff.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Dari, excellent verbal translation skills, and Strong negotiation skills.
- Windows, a package of office, e-mail communication.
- Ability to work with people with different cultural backgrounds.
- Politeness, Pleasant and Friendly disposition, Attention to detail, Initiative, Punctuality, Honesty, and Diligence.
- Keep a professional working attitude under all circumstances and implement the principles of RRAA.
