Job Description:

Job Summary: 

The main objective of the position is to identify, support, refer, and facilitate child protection services in the target provinces following enacted policies of WAW, donor agencies, child case management standard operating procedures, local stakeholders' guidelines, and data protection protocols. He/ She will be responsible for supporting the establishment of Child Protection Networks, CPN meetings, and Child-Friendly Spaces.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the full case management cycle—Identification, Assessment, Case Planning, Implementation, Follow-up, and Case Closure—ensuring all actions prioritize the best interests of the child, and the Do No Harm principle. 
  • Proactively identify and register children facing high-risk protection concerns, including child labor, early marriage, survivors of violence or neglect, and  those requiring specialized services through referrals.
  • Ensure every step of the case management aligns with Inter-Agency Child Protection  Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) ,WAW policies, and the Do No Harm principle.
  • Maintain detailed, up-to-date, and confidential documentation for each case, adhering to child safeguarding policies.
  • Build and maintain trust-based relationships with community leaders and local authorities to facilitate safe access for child protection interventions. Maintain highly confidential, accurate, and organized case files (both physical and digital), ensuring compliance with Data Protection Protocols and Informed Consent/Assent procedures.
  • Map, update, and utilize local referral pathways to ensure children access specialized medical, legal, and mental health services (PSS) through CPAN, D-CPAN, DoLSA, and other partners
  • Collaborate with the project team (e.g., Community Mobilizers, PSS Counsellors, and Child-Friendly Space (CFS) Facilitators) in the establishment and effective operation of CFSs.
  • Ensure that case plans are regularly reviewed and facilitate the attendance of all key stakeholders at relevant meetings, including case conferences and reviews.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and monitoring to CFS Facilitators to ensure recreational and psychosocial activities are age-appropriate, inclusive, and safe.Capacity building of local child protection structures for safe identification and referrals of child protection cases.
  •  Providing capacity building sessions for communities on children rights and child protection. Regularly update case action plans, ensuring accountability and alignment with project goals.
  • Collect and analyse relevant case information through interviews with children, families, and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for the Child Protection Officer/Project Focal Point.
  • Maintain the highest level of professional ethics and boundaries when working with vulnerable children and their families.
  • Conduction of ongoing assessment to address child protection cases.
  • To assist the CP Officer, referring to other services in case of specific needs
  • Attend relevant inter-agency coordination meetings, workshops, and conferences as required
  • Any other tasks related to child protection programs given by the line manager 

Job Requirements:

  • At least be an undergraduate degree holder from one of the accredited universities, especially in the field of psychology, the medical field, or any other relevant field. 
  • At 03 three years of experience in the humanitarian field, especially in humanitarian services, protection, women's and children's rights, etc. Preference will be given to candidate having strong experiences in the field of child protection.
  • Be good in English and professional in the reading and writing of Pashto and Dari.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Great teamwork player in the professional environment.
