Job Description:
The female medical doctor (MD) is responsible for delivering high-quality clinical care and medical treatment to patients at the health facility level particularly female clients and children. This includes diagnosing illnesses, prescribing appropriate medications, managing both acute and chronic conditions, and ensuring that all medical interventions align with national treatment protocols and guidelines. The MD also plays a key leadership role by supervising and mentoring female health staff, enhancing their clinical skills through on-the-job training and capacity-building sessions. Furthermore, the MD actively contributes to the planning, coordination, and implementation of health and nutrition activities, working closely with other team members to improve service delivery, patient outcomes, and community health.
1. Responsible for basic health center management in the field, reporting, conducting female and children OPD sessions, drug distribution and leading female team members as per their job description.
2. Make sure that all planned primary health care as per BPHS, sexual reproductive services, trauma care and other project interventions are executed and expected services are delivered to all target population within the catchment area.
3. Maintain required quality of care in terms of providing healthcare services to patients (consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and referral), health education/conducting awareness raising sessions and reporting.
4. Make sure that basic health centers healthcare services are delivered according to current medical practices, national guidelines/treatment protocols and organization policies/procedures (with main focus to privacy, internal control/accountability, humanitarian principles etc.).
5. Responsible for technical support and monitoring of basic health centers female staff/ members’ activities and make sure that healthcare services are delivered as per relevant guidelines, standards and protocols.
6. Responsible to make sure that project resources are properly utilized in the field, quality of service delivery and data entry is maintained by all team members and close working coordination is maintained with local stakeholders (female CHWs, FHAG members, and female health committees at health post/village level.
7. Responsible of regular updates and data entry of daily female OPD/consultation in different HMIS/reporting tools/formats/registers according to MoPH/project needs and scope of work.
8. Active participation in BHC related community-based activities, awareness raising sessions, meetings, and lead female BHC colleagues’ coordination with local health committees/CDCs and other forums including supervising AMAL sessions at HF and inidrectly supporting SAA sessions at HP level.
9. Identify and report immediately any problems at community level that may interfere in achieving program objectives or need relevant management action.
10. Participate in designing and implementation of on-the-job trainings for HF female staff and female CHWs, FHAG members as per project work plan and staff need for knowledge and skills development within scope of BHC.
11. Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor/line manager.

Graduated from a registered and recognized medical faculty/Institute.

Post graduation in public health/medicine (Gyn/Obs) with confirmation of exit exam pass marks is additional plus point.
Work Experience:
• The Candidate must have at least three-years’ relevant work experience in BPHS related health facilities or similar working context/environment.
Languages Skills:
• Fluency in spoken and written Dari and Pashtu is a requirement. English Language skills is a plus point.
More than three years relevant experience in BPHS HFs and relevant trainings are preferred.
