Job Description:

  1. Provide day-to-day Shariah advisory support to business units, treasury, operations, and support functions.
  2. Respond to Shariah-related queries and prepare written Sharia advisory opinions for internal use.
  3. Assist in the interpretation, dissemination, and implementation of Sharia Board resolutions.
  4. Support the development and structuring of Shariah-compliant products, services, and processes.
  5. Review proposed products, contracts, workflows, policies, procedures, system configurations, and marketing materials from a Sharia perspective prior to launch.
  6. Identify Shariah compliance gaps and recommend corrective or remedial actions.
  7. Support the strengthening and ongoing enhancement of the Bank’s Shariah Governance Framework in line with NSGF requirements.
  8. Assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating Shariah non-compliance risks.
  9. Coordinate with Sharia Review, Shariah Audit, Internal Audit, Risk, and Compliance functions on Sharia-related matters.
  10. Prepare advisory notes, concept papers, and supporting documentation for Sharia Board deliberation.
  11. Assist in monitoring the implementation of Shariah Board decisions across the Bank.
  12. Support Shariah awareness initiatives, internal guidance notes, and staff training programs.
  13. Promote a strong culture of Shariah compliance and ethical conduct across the Bank.
  14. Support regulatory engagements, Shariah inspections, and supervisory reviews when required.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Fiqh-ul-Muʿamalat, Islamic Finance, or Sharia Law

Professional Certifications (Preferred)
• AAOIFI CSAA / CIPA or equivalent Islamic finance certification

Experience
• 1–3 years of experience in Islamic banking, Shariah advisory, or Sharia governance
• Practical exposure to Islamic banking products, contracts, and operations
• Experience working with or supporting a Sharia Board is an advantage

Core Competencies

• Strong command of Fiqh-ul-Muʿamalat
• Practical understanding of Islamic banking operations
• Knowledge of AAOIFI, IFSB, and DAB Shariah governance standards
• Strong analytical, advisory writing, and communication skills
• High ethical standards and professional integrity
