Job Description:
Financial Management
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls in compliance with donor requirements and local regulations.
- Oversee budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting for the project, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Review and approve financial transactions, including payments, advances, and receipts, ensuring they are in line with policies and budgets.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for the project, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Ensure financial reports are compliant with donor requirements and provide analysis of financial data to support decision-making.
- File and process annual tax clearance with the Ministry of Finance on monthly basis.
Grant Management:
- Monitor grant budgets, expenditures, and compliance with donor regulations.
- Assisting in budget development of project proposals.
- Prepare financial reports for donors and assist in the preparation of grant proposals and budgets.
Capacity Building:
- Train and mentor finance staff to improve their financial management skills and compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Audit and Compliance:
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and local regulations.
- Implement audit recommendations to strengthen financial controls and reporting.
Cash Management:
- Oversee cash flow planning and ensure the availability of funds for project activities.
- Monitor bank transactions and reconcile bank statements regularly.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the NGO sector.
- Strong knowledge of donor regulations, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Experience with accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and [local language] is required.
- Knowledge of using the QuickBooks / the system in finance
- Good team work ability.
- Adhering the risk minimizing strategies of the organization.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems and facilitate effective decision making.
- Ability to work well under pressure and work to deadlines
