Job Description:
- General Responsibilities:
- Mobilize targeted communities for active participation in agriculture and livestock based value addition activities.
- Conduct regular training and mentorship sessions to enhance clients capacity.
- Facilitate a broader understanding of agriculture and livestock based value addition activities such as FFS, and kitchen gardening, green house and agriculture value chain.
- Collect, analyze, and report on data related to agro-based initiatives.
- Conduct thorough data collection on agriculture and livestock based value addition practices and community needs.
- Organize and deliver technical agriculture and livestock based value addition -related training sessions and guidance and ensure the value addition activities are technically appropriate, market oriented and aligned with the project goals.
- Ensure that training aligns with the needs and context of the target communities considering the seasonal calendar of the targeted areas.
Specific Responsibilities:

- Develop detailed action plans for agriculture and livestock based value addition interventions for utilization of solar panels, food dryers and related tools to support income generation of clients.
- Develop training plan, context based, IRC Lear to Ear curriculum, summarization of each day training and IEC materials.
- Provide technical insights on criteria development and Conduct clients selection assessment to identify the eligible clients.
- Establishment of FFS centers in the location of identified clients ensuring accessibility, and safety of clients.
- Identify and promote appropriate context oriented value chain such as (fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy or any other product).
- Deliver practical trainings to the clients on utilization of renewable energy and value addition technologies to generate sustainable income. Also ensure the practical trainings are environment friendly.
- Lead and monitor the complete cycle of the value chain activity such as food processing, packaging, market readiness, marketing of value added products to ensure income generation.
- Ensure all of the value chain activities are suitable for lean season income generation in consideration of project timeline.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in commerce, renewable energy, agribusiness and related fields
- 2-3 years’ experience in conducting agriculture and livestock based value addition training .
- Should have experience in emergency and recovery value chain projects
- Practical experience on providing hands on trainings and coaching with the tools and equipment.
- Strong practical knowledge of Food drying, processing, and preservation techniques.
