Job Description:
- Research and evaluate local and international vendors in line with GAAC Procurement Policy.
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery despite logistical and security challenges.
- Update internal databases with supplier details, invoices, and contracts.
- Obtain and compare quotations (minimum three per procurement).
- Conduct market research to monitor pricing trends and availability.
- Prepare RFQs, RFPs, and manage the PR–PO process.
- Follow up with suppliers to confirm or adjust orders.
- Liaise with End user to ensure goods arrive in good condition.
- Support Procurement Manager in Preparing the Budget and Procurement Plans.
- Ensure familiarity with Afghanistan Procurement Laws.
- Ensure familiarity with Afghan customs clearance procedures.
- Ensure familiarity with Afghan taxation laws.
- Support international procurement processes including Incoterms and customs documentation and freight forwarding.
- Use ERP systems for procurement Process, tracking and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GAAC Procurement Policy and company procedures.
Job Requirements:
- Must have Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
- Sound understanding of procurement principles, standards and practices
- Knowledge of market research
- Experience in collecting and analyzing data
- Analytical mind with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong planning and time management abilities.
- Effective presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Good influencing and negotiating skills
- Computer skills; MS office packages
- Experience in use of ERP
- Certification in procurement is preferred
- Fair knowledge of Company’s activities to know basic training requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to understand the company’s standards and accreditations
- Fluent in English, Dari/Pashto – written and spoken
