About Social and Humanitarian Assistance Organization:
Social and Humanitarian Assistance Organization (SHAO) is an Afghan NGO working in the sectors of formal education support, community education, women empowerment, child protection, WASH, nutrition/cash transfer, migration, livelihood support, capacity building, advocacy and infrastructure rehabilitation.
SHAO was established in 2009 after receiving working license from Afghan Ministry of Economy. The main office is located in Kabul with access to Kandahar, Helmand, Urozgan, Nimroz, Kunduz and Zabul provinces.
Job Description:
District Community Mobilizer is responsible for raising awareness about the importance of SDL (Skills development and Literacy) and creating demand for SDL programmes. They are also required to support the smooth running of SDL, courses in their respective communities in collaboration with the related local authorities, community elders, religious scholars, and other community members.
Job Requirements:
- Establishing effective relationships with the Government Departments VSCs, to mobilize support for SDL, programme in the respective districts.
- Engaging effectively with Councils, Shuras for continuous project implementation.
- Organizing and facilitating meetings with various stakeholders at the District Level, mosques, and other community centers to promote SDL, classes and highlight their benefits for the learners and their communities working closely with the PCM.
- Establishing and managing VSC (Village Skills Committee) in the target villages.
- Providing orientation to the VSC, members about their roles and responsibilities in the implementation of the SDL, courses.
- Providing training and mentoring to VSC, members on how to conduct public awareness and undertaking monitoring of the course activities.
- Identifying facilitators who have the appropriate skills, attitudes, and experience to facilitate SDL, courses in their communities.
- Establishing and supervising the SDL courses in the target communities.
- Providing technical and administrative support for the facilitators and the SDL, classes.
- Establishing and maintaining a database for the SDL, courses, its beneficiaries as well as VSCs.
- Monitoring the quality and effectiveness of the SDL courses their respective districts with a view to identify and help address the challenges in a timely manner.
- Supporting PCM in identifying and developing success stories from the SDL, learners and the broader community.
- Based on regular monitoring of SDL, classes develop monthly monitoring reports and share with the PCM on a monthly basis.
- Supporting the PCM in organizing and conducting the facilitators in-service training at the local level.
- Preparing and sharing the facilitators in-service training report with the PCM
- Organizing and leading monthly coordination meetings with facilitators in their respective districts.
