Job Description:
The project Manager will be responsible for the overall on-site management, coordination, supervision, and control of the Sultan Dam Operation and Maintenance Project located in Ghazni Province. The position requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and experience in dam construction and infrastructure projects to ensure that works are implemented in accordance with approved designs, specifications, schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Manage, organize, and supervise daily construction and maintenance activities at the project site.
- Ensure proper implementation of engineering drawings, technical designs, and construction specifications.
- Monitor and control the quality of construction materials, including soil, gravel, stone, filter materials, and other related materials.
- Lead, coordinate, and supervise technical staff, site personnel, and laborers.
- Ensure proper use, maintenance, and control of construction machinery and equipment.
- Implement Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards and take preventive measures to avoid accidents.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports to relevant authorities.
- Monitor the project schedule and take corrective actions to prevent delays.
- Prepare and implement the project execution work plan.
- Identify technical issues at the site and coordinate with relevant engineers to resolve them.
- Ensure compliance with environmental standards and implementation of environmental protection measures.
- Maintain effective coordination and communication between the head office, subcontractors, and the funding agency’s site team.
- Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) team and follow up on laboratory testing results.
- Accurately measure, record, and certify quantities of completed works.
- Prepare and submit invoices and related financial documents based on executed works.
- Verify quantities of variation works, prepare technical justifications, submit formal variation requests for approval, and obtain approval prior to execution.
- Implement approved variation works and follow up on related technical and financial documentation.
- Prepare and follow up on documentation related to claims and changes with the head office and the client.
- Ensure preparedness for emergency situations and conduct risk management activities.
- Maintain, organize, and safeguard all technical, financial, and administrative project documentation throughout all phases of construction.
- Maintain Proper communication with all stakeholders
- Conduct EVM (Earn Value Management) at any stage of the implementation
- Report regularly to the General Manager and the Client.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the General Manager or the Company Director
