Bakhter Development Network (BDN) was established and registered in 2001 with the Ministry of Economics in Afghanistan as an Afghan, non-political, non-profit, and non-governmental organization. Job Description:

To support community safety, social cohesion, and youth engagement initiatives through training, stakeholder coordination, and data-driven reporting. The role contributes to humanitarian disarmament and peacebuilding efforts by strengthening local capacities and promoting inclusive dialogue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and conduct trainings and workshops on community safety, alternative dispute resolution, social cohesion initiatives, and youth engagement
  • Support in designing and/or updating training methodology, content, and materials.
  • Maintaining regular communication with community leaders (ARBAB), particularly women and youths, on humanitarian disarmament & peacebuilding unit activities.
  • Working closely with BDN provincial staff for arranging, conducting, and following up on training and other activities.
  • Assist the community leaders in updating information on community safety, mediation, and youth engagement.
  • Ensure follow-up and support to communities in relation to the key activities
  • Establishing and maintaining linkages among relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the project manager to generate qualitative and quantitative data to document milestones of project progress and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly updates as required.
  • Assist the project manager in conducting regular analysis, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Keep the project manager updated on the progress of the activities and any issues that may arise during the course of the implementation that need senior officers’ attention.
  • Update the area manager on any information related to security.
  • Collect and compile village/district data and information into an agreed system, including performing quality checks to ensure information is correct and adequate.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the project manager.

Job Requirements:

  • University degree in Social Sciences, Political Law, or any other relevant degree
  • At least 3 years of work experience in conflict mediation, community safety, youth engagement, or other relevant areas.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills in community safety and conflict mediation.
  • Ability to clearly express one’s thoughts and to analyze and present information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to set priorities and to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
