About Youth Assembly for Afghanistan Rehabilitation (YAAR):
The Youth’s Assembly for Afghanistan Rehabilitation (YAAR) is a national, non-governmental, and non-profit organization founded in 1994, register no. 157, to deliver humanitarian assistance and support Afghanistan’s long-term recovery. Over the last three decades, YAAR has grown into a capable and community-focused organization with experience working in more than 17 provinces and implemented multisectoral projects in partnership with UN agencies, INGOs, embassies, and local institutions.
Job Description:
Assist in target setting, planning activities, training of the staff, ensuring regular supply, overseeing the implementation, finding the gaps, and trying to find proper solutions for an expanded program of immunization (EPI) and clinical laboratory and blood bank activities.
Supervision Exercised:
Supervision of YAAR vaccinators and laboratory technicians.
- Assist in preparing an annual action plan for the supervision of all field activities based on the project's work plan.
- Assist with feasibility studies of the site as required.
- Survey on EPI target diseases in the target area.
- Obtain a clear picture of the essential technical and administrative needs of the facilities.
- Identify staff needs for training.
- Identify needs for logistics like vaccines, cold chain and EPI related equipment, etc.
- Ensure the health facilities have functional and proper vaccination units both in clinics and for outreach.
- Check related inventories and orders from the health facilities.
- Ensure that all vaccines supplies are available in each health facility.
- Manage outreach vaccination program; regularly monitor the field activities.
- Supervise, evaluate, and follow- up on the activity and output of vaccinators in all health facilities and outreach activities.
- Ensure that the set norms and protocols are respected.
- Ensure vaccination reports are prepared properly and submitted timely.
- Perform on-the-job training and refresher training for the staff.
- Coordinate training/capacity-building opportunities for vaccinators.
- Conveys all instructions of the field office to the health facilities.
- Conduct staff motivation.
- Conduct meetings with authorities, community leaders, elders, and head of households to improve community participation and indirect evaluation of the field activities.
- Assist with other staff in cases of disease outbreaks and immunization campaigns.
- Collect and compile activity reports and recommendations for field activities.
- To ensure inventory of all assets and maintain health facilities.
- Perform any other required project-related tasks.
Job Requirements:

- At least 5-10 years of proven experience in EPI related jobs.
- MD (Medical Doctor) or equivalent degree from a recognized institution.
- Strong communication skills.
- Fluent in English, Pashto, and Dari with excellent speaking and writing skills.
- Proficient computing skills – word processing, spreadsheet design, and presentations.
- Valid Afghanistan Medical Council (AMC) registration card/license is mandatory for MD applicants. A copy of the valid AMC card must be attached to the CV/application.
