About Afghanistan Rehabilitation and Women Education Organization (ARWEO):
ARWEO is a nonprofit organization with a visionary focus on the rehabilitation and protection of vulnerable communities in Afghanistan. ARWEO has a strategic goal of assisting the lifesaving and immediate needs of the marginalized population including IDPs, refugees, and host communities in eastern, central, northern and central highlands regions. Job Description:
Summary:
The main purpose of the District Supervisor is to provide day-to-day supervision and guidance to field teams, ensure quality implementation of activities, monitor progress, and report regularly to the higher management. The supervisor will act as a bridge between the district-level activities and the central office.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision and Field Support
- Regularly visit field sites, offices, and project areas within the district.
- Supervise field staff and provide technical and administrative guidance.
- Ensure staff follow work plans, timelines, and organizational policies.
- Identify challenges in the field and provide practical solutions.
Planning and Coordination
- Assist in preparing district-level work plans and activity schedules.
- Coordinate with local authorities, community leaders, and stakeholders.
- Ensure proper implementation of planned activities at the district level.
- Support meetings, trainings, and community events when required.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Monitor progress of activities and ensure quality standards are met.
- Collect, verify, and compile field data and reports.
- Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports and submit them on time.
- Share success stories, challenges, and lessons learned.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Support logistics, inventory, and resource management at district level.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of project assets.
- Assist in staff attendance tracking and performance feedback.
- Follow financial and administrative guidelines while conducting activities.
Communication and Representation
- Act as the focal person for district-level coordination.
- Maintain regular communication with supervisors and central office.
- Represent the organization in district meetings when assigned.
- Build positive relationships with partners and stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, management, development studies, or a related field
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
- Previous experience in supervision, field coordination, or project implementation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and under field conditions
- Basic knowledge of reporting, documentation, and computer use
- Strong capacity-building, technical, supervisory, and problem-solving skills, and proven ability to work in WFP project management.
- Strong project planning, monitoring, and evaluation, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Strong budget management and reporting skills, and an ability to oversee multiple awards from a variety of donors.
Skills and Competencies
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to travel field based on need.
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Knowledge of local language, i.e., Dari and Pashto. (Preferred)
