Job Description:
The Master Trainer will be responsible for designing and delivering comprehensive teacher training under the TDS Model to improve the quality of education in UNHCR-built schools. The trainer will build the capacity of selected teachers through structured training, mentorship, and classroom-based support. The role includes facilitating training sessions, conducting classroom observations, providing feedback, placement of Teachers to UNHCR-built Schools, facilitating monthly cash distribution and ensuring effective application of modern teaching methodologies. The Master Trainer will report directly to the Learning Focal Point and work closely with teachers, schools, and the provincial Education department.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and deliver structured teacher training sessions (25–75 days) based on the TDS Model.
- Provide training on:
- Modern teaching methodologies
- Classroom management techniques
- Inclusive and child-centered education practices
- Lesson planning and effective instructional delivery
- Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to trainees.
- Support teachers in applying learned skills in real classroom settings.
- Placement of Teachers in UNHCR-built Schools
- Facilitate monthly incentive Distribution to teachers
- Provide ongoing mentorship, coaching, and professional support to trainees.
- Monitor trainees’ progress and evaluate performance regularly.
- Prepare training plans, materials, and session schedules.
- Maintain attendance records and all training documentation.
- Ensure alignment of training with project objectives and TDS standards
- Support beneficiary selection and assessment processes when required.
- Strengthen coordination between schools, communities, and education stakeholders.
- Promote inclusive learning environments, especially for vulnerable groups (refugees and IDPs).
- Submit weekly and monthly progress reports to the learning Focal point.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safeguarding, and project guidelines.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in teacher training, education programs, or capacity building.
- Proven experience in delivering trainings and working with adult learners.
- Experience in classroom observation, mentoring, and coaching teachers.
- Experience working with NGOs, UN agencies, or development projects is an asset.
- Strong understanding of modern pedagogical approaches and inclusive education.
