Job Description:

  • Chief Information Officer shall develop goals, roadmap and executing a multi-year technology strategy supporting the full range of business services, and ensure the IT department runs smoothly and effectively. 

  • Chief Information Officer shall provide vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives and Chief Information Officer is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and directs the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems in support of business operations in order to improve cost effectiveness and service quality,

  • Chief Information Officer shall direct activities of the IT Department, providing leadership and supervising of IT staff and ensures Compliance with bank’s policies and procedures as well monitor changes in the technology sector to discover ways the company can improve and develop.

  • Chief Information Officer is responsible for daily operations of technology and technology-related systems and in providing ongoing service to internal staff and other stakeholders, also responsible for all aspects of the organization’s information technology and systems, including information and cybersecurity.

  • Chief Information Officer Shall Lead IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment and management of current and future IT resources and systems across the organization. 

  • Chief Information Officer Shall Create state of the organization dynamic security practices across the IT department and bank as well provide high quality day-to-day operations of technology and technology enabled business functions.

  • Chief Information Officer shall develop and maintain an appropriate IT organizational structure that supports the organization’s needs, including information and cybersecurity.

  • Chief Information Officer shall stay abreast of emerging technologies that can improve IT department performance and bring cost effectiveness to the company.

  • Chief Information Officer responsible to stay at the forefront of IT risk and security issues facing the Bank also Assess and make recommendations on the improvement or re-engineering of the IT department.

  • Chief Information Officer shall maintain security standards appropriate for the bank’s size and complexity and Develop, track, and control the IT annual operating and capital budgets.

  • Chief Information Officer shall collaborate with senior leaders to ensure technology strategy and investment are in line with business function objectives and Acting as a senior point of escalation to troubleshoot, report and resolve issues as well supervise the networks and computer systems including Core Banking applications and Databases in the company to ensure optimal performance.

  • Chief Information Officer shall serve as the senior technical solutions analyst and ensuring strategic technology decisions are evaluated and assessed in line with technology industry standards. 

  • Chief Information Officer shall identify security threats, formulate strategies and methods to mitigate the threats. 

  • Chief Information Officer Shall Plan, Direct and establish IT-related projects as well create and adapt technological platforms to improve the customer experience.

  • Chief Information Officer is responsible for Troubleshoot date-related issues and establish regular maintenance.

  • Chief Information Officer shall work with upper-level IT staff to develop and implement department goals and implementing IT policies, protocols and standards.

  • Chief Information officer shall Develops and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and efficacy of technologies initiatives appropriate support to company-wide goals.

  • Chief Information Officer is responsible to review performance of IT staff and develop their Job Descriptions.

  • Chief Information Officer is Responsible for the development, review and certification of all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans as well planning data storage and monitoring performance of databases.

  • Chief Information officer shall Train IT staff personnel to enhance their skills and knowledge. 

  • Chief Information officer shall monitor and regular check-up of IT succession plan and develop succession plan for key IT positions.

  • Chief Information Officer shall work with upper management and senior IT staff to develop the IT department budget as well review and recommend IT department purchases and payments.

  • Chief Information officer shall Review Vendor proposals and makes decisions based on things such as price, what they offer, and how the vendor product may fit into the organization.

  • Chief Information officer shall communicate with other executives regarding costs, value and risk-potential of new IT projects. 

  • Chief Information Officer Shall Oversees the development and testing of new programs developed specifically for the company.

  • Chief Information Officer Shall Ensures the company’s data remains secure by keeping up to date on the latest cyber security threats and finds ways to guard against them on an organization-wide scale.

  • Chief Information officer shall Coaches members of the IT teams, particularly IT leaders, so everyone stays on the same pate across the company.

  • Chief Information officer shall Communicates with other executive members to make sure all parts of the company use technology in the best ways possible.

  • To attend to any other matter that may not have been mentioned in this document but is otherwise required to be attended by the job holder. Besides, the Job Holder is to attend to any Bank related assignment given by CEO, Board of Supervisors or General Meeting of Share Holders.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Professional Certificates in cybersecurity, information Technology, and modern threats.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7-10 Year experience in managing or directing IT operation in financial institutions.

Skills:

  • Proven experience as chief information officer or similar managerial role.

  • Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure.

  • Background in designing/developing IT systems and planning implementation.

  • Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting and business operations.
