About ISDR-Organization:

The Initiatives for Sustainable Development and Relief Organization (ISDR-Organization) is a national NGO established in 2023 and registered with the Ministry of Economy in Afghanistan. ISDR works to improve the well-being of vulnerable communities through sustainable interventions in health, child protection, youth empowerment, and community development, with a strong focus on maternal, newborn, child, and reproductive health.

Job Summary:

ISDRO is seeking a qualified and motivated Midwife to support a maternal and reproductive health initiative focused on improving access to essential services for women. The position holder will be responsible for building and maintaining partnerships with health facilities, conducting trainings for outreach midwives and facility staff, supporting the proper use of reproductive health commodities, ensuring timely coordination of supplies to partner facilities, and preparing regular reports for management, stakeholders, and donors. This role combines clinical expertise with strong coordination, training, and communication responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Establish and maintain effective partnerships with health facilities and support the implementation of ISDRO-supported maternal and reproductive health services.
2. Conduct training sessions for outreach midwives and facility staff on maternal and reproductive health approaches and proper use of related commodities.
3. Support health facilities in the effective utilization and management of reproductive health commodities and ensure timely coordination of supplies.
4. Facilitate collaboration with hospitals and clinics, including support for MoU implementation and follow-up on agreed activities.
5. Conduct regular monitoring visits to partner facilities to assess service delivery, performance, and supply needs.
6. Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports for management, stakeholders, and donors.
7. Ensure adherence to organizational guidelines, protocols, and quality standards across partner facilities.
8. Provide technical support and guidance to facility staff to strengthen service delivery and client care.
9. Collect feedback from facilities and stakeholders to support continuous improvement of services.

Required Qualifications

Education:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery/Nursing from a recognized and accredited institute or university
• Additional diplomas or certifications in project management, health program management, or administration will be considered an asset.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience, preferably with NGOs or health sector projects

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with health facility staff and stakeholders
• Basic knowledge of project coordination, training facilitation, and reporting is required
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a challenging field environment
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Fluency in Dari, Pashto, and English (both written and spoken)
