Job Description:
1. Background
NOVE Onlus is planning to implement the “From Crisis to Care” Project in Bamian Province, aiming to support the most affected families by addressing food insecurity, promoting better hygiene practices, and enhancing knowledge through Nutrition and Health awareness sessions. NOVE will provide monthly food packages of nutritious food and hygiene kits tailored to the specific needs of women and their families. Additionally, the awareness sessions on Nutrition and Hygiene practices will equip beneficiaries with practical skills and knowledge to improve their overall well-being.
2. Project Objectives:
To provide critical support to 107 vulnerable families (approximately 749 individuals) living in the province of Bamian by:
- Improving access to nutritious food for two months.
- Providing hygiene kits tailored to the needs of women in order to prevent diseases.
- Conducting awareness sessions on Nutrition and Hygiene practices, to empower families with the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions for their families’ well-being.
3. Purpose of the Role
In order to achieve the above, the Project Assistant is responsible for ensuring implementation and monitoring of project activities in targeted locations of Bamian Province. The person will ensure smooth coordination on the ground and will act as a key link between the project sites and both the local office in Kabul and NOVE HQ in Italy.

5. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operational execution of the project, including beneficiary assessment and selection, training sessions, and the overseeing and planning of food packages and hygiene kits distribution.
- Act as NOVE’s focal point with the local authorities with responsibility to submit and obtain the project’s related documents, approving, signing and stamping the beneficiaries’ distribution lists.
- Liaise regularly with the local administrative and programmatic staff in Kabul to ensure alignment with the approved project plan and workplan.
- Identify and report operational challenges, proposing solutions and adjustments as needed.
- Interface with HQ staff (both administrative and programmatic) to provide timely data, field updates, and inputs for reports and any other project-related documents.
- Coordinate with the M&E Officer to support the collection, analysis, data monitoring and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with project guidelines and local regulatory frameworks, with particular attention to the safety and accessibility of staff and beneficiaries.
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly activity reports and documentation required by donors and HQ.
6. Reporting:
The Project Assistant will be reporting to NOVE’s Deputy Country Director and the HQ Programmatic and Administrative team.
