AWRO is seeking a Full-time Health and Nutrition Officer to further strengthen the implementation of the Project in Jawzjan province. Assistant The Health and Nutrition Officer plays a central role in ensuring that project activities translate into real health and nutrition improvements for beneficiaries. Their tasks usually combine technical implementation, supervision, coordination, and monitoring.
TOR:
The Health and Nutrition Officer will be responsible for the following tasks, but not limited to:
- Assist in the coordination and management of Mobile Health and Nutrition Teams (MHNTs).
- Support screening and referral of malnutrition cases in coordination with CHWs and health teams.
- Manage and provide guidance to the Health and Nutrition Extenders (HNEs) on nutrition assessments, healthcare service delivery, and malnutrition management.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager in planning and implementing all nutrition and health-related activities.
- Collect, compile, and update field-level data and reports related to health and nutrition interventions.
- Support and provide technical advice to field teams, ensuring adherence to project objectives and standards.
- Draft timely and accurate health and nutrition reports for submission to the Project Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
- Collect and analyze health and nutrition data to identify trends, gaps, and needs for program adjustment.
- Lead and manage community sensitization and awareness campaigns focusing on health and nutrition practices.
- Any other tasks or jobs as assigned by the project manager
Job Requirements:

- Diploma degree in Medical, Nursing or Nutrition or related field
- At least 2 years of experience as Nutrition and Health Officer experience in NGO or humanitarian projects
- Good knowledge of maternal and child health and nutrition, community-based management of acute malnutrition, IYCF, and health and hygiene promotion
- Familiarity with national health guidelines and humanitarian standards
- Ability to design and deliver health and nutrition education and awareness sessions
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good team management skills
- Strong understanding of gender, protection, do-no-harm, and GBV principles
