Job Description:

The Child Protection Case Worker/ Social Worker is responsible for the implementation of child protection case management services for children at risk, including survivors of violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation. The role involves identifying vulnerable children, conducting assessments, developing case plans, and ensuring appropriate follow-up and referrals to specialized services.

The Case Worker works closely with children, families, communities, and service providers to ensure that each child receives safe, confidential, and appropriate care in line with established child protection standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities:

Identify and register vulnerable and at-risk children, including survivors of abuse, neglect, and exploitation

Conduct Best Interest Assessments (BIA) and risk/needs assessments

Develop and implement individualized case plans based on children’s needs

Provide basic psychosocial support (PSS) to children and caregivers

Facilitate referrals to specialized services (health, legal, education, MHPSS) and ensure follow-up

Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date case documentation and reports.

Conduct regular home visits and monitor case progress until safe case closure.

Ensure adherence to child safeguarding, confidentiality, and Do No Harm principles

Coordinate with community structures, service providers, and stakeholders for integrated support.

Participate in awareness activities and strengthen community-based child protection mechanisms Ensure proper use, management, and maintenance of recreational kits, learning materials, and center equipment.

Maintain accurate records, including attendance, activity reports, and incident reporting.

Prepare and submit regular reports on CCC activities, progress, and challenges.

Any other task assign by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:

A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, legal studies and Laws, or a related field.

A Minimum of 3 years proven experience preferably in child protection or humanitarian programs, community-based interventions, and coordination with Community Stakeholders.

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong communication skills (with children, families, and communities).

Active listening and empathy when dealing with vulnerable children.

Case management and assessment skills (BIA, risk assessment, case planning).

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Basic psychosocial support (PSS) skills.

Problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Coordination and referral management skills.

Strong documentation and report writing skills.

Time management and ability to manage caseload effectively.

Knowledge of child protection principles and safeguarding standards.

Cultural sensitivity and respect for diversity.

Ability to work under pressure and in emergency contexts.

Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, data entry systems).
