Job Description:
Overall Responsibilities:
Child Care Center (CCC) Supervisor manages daily activities, staff, and safety within a designated space for children, in earthquake affected areas. Key responsibilities include supervising facilitators, conducting safeguarding risk assessments, creating activity schedules, ensuring a safe, supportive environment, and reporting data on child protection needs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments of existing CCCs and gaps in the target community/districts.
- Conduct information outreach within the community to increase awareness of available CCC services and referral pathways.
- Facilitate monthly coordination meetings with parents of CCC registered children to review protection concerns, referrals, community feedback, and prioritize follow-up actions.
- Provide technical oversight for operationalization of child protection infrastructure, including renovation/rehabilitation support for Child Care Center (CCCs) and related assets.
- Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure continuity and sustainability planning for CCCs in earthquake affected areas.
- Support establishment and functioning of Child Care Centers (CCCs), including static and mobile/home-based CCC models.
- Coordinate distribution and monitoring of children’s kits linked to CCCs, including:
- Educational/School kits (static + home-based CCCs)
- Recreational kits for CCCs
- Support the running/operation of CCCs, including child meals/snacks (e.g., biscuits/cake for registered children in CCCs—static + mobile), ensuring adherence to child safeguarding and accountability standards.
- Provide technical support to CCC management and structures, including CCC facilitators oversight support.
- Ensure child safeguarding measures across CCC activities, including collaboration with/inputs to the Safeguarding Officer role and implementation of safeguarding/incident reporting procedures.
- Support delivery of positive parenting sessions for parents/caregivers of children registered in CCCs.
- Perform any other functions related to Child Protection activities and initiatives assigned by the line manager.
Job Requirements:
Background/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social science (BBA, LLB, Economics, Social work, international law or related field, a Master’s degree holder is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in child protection program with a National/International NGO or UN organization.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of child protection in emergencies, CCC workspace and child rights.
Note: Applicants from and/or living in Kunar province, will be prioritized.
Skills Required:
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
- Fluency in local languages, Pashto (spoken and written).
- Advanced computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook).
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
