About Your Voice Organization (YVO):
Your Voice Organization (YVO) was established in March 2019 as a non-profit, non-political, and non-governmental organization, registered under the NGO laws of Afghanistan. It originated from the localization efforts of the Japan International Volunteer Center (JVC). YVO implements community-based humanitarian programs across sectors including education, food security and livelihoods, protection, ESNFI, and peacebuilding. Its interventions focus on vulnerable populations such as women, children, internally displaced persons (IDPs), returnees, and persons with disabilities and integrates safeguarding, accountability, and inclusion across its activities, with an emphasis on community-level engagement and capacity development.
Job Description:
The Poultry Trainer will be responsible for delivering training, providing technical services, and supporting field-level implementation of poultry-related interventions to improve productivity and household livelihoods.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop training plans, modules, and simple training materials adapted to local context.
- Conduct practical and participatory poultry management trainings.
- Prepare and manage training materials and operation kits for beneficiaries.
- Provide continuous field-based coaching and technical support to beneficiaries.
- Monitor poultry housing, feeding, hygiene, and productivity practices.
- Support vaccination, disease prevention, and biosecurity measures.
- Identify and respond to poultry health issues and coordinate with veterinarians.
- Promote better poultry farming practices to increase productivity and income.
- Assist in beneficiary mobilization and community engagement activities.
- Support transparent distribution and proper utilization of poultry assets and inputs.
- Maintain records of trainings, attendance, and field visits.
- Collect field data and support MEAL activities (baseline, monitoring, reporting).
- Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports and end-of-training reports.
- Participate in project meetings and coordination with project team and stakeholders.
- Support beneficiaries in basic business skills, record keeping, and market access.
- Promote and ensure a safe and respectful environment for all beneficiaries.
- Actively implement and adhere to organizational safeguarding policies.
- Report any safeguarding concerns through YVO’s established procedures.
- Perform any other relevant tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science, Animal Science, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in poultry management and training.
- Experience with NGOs or projects preferred.
- Strong facilitation and communication skills.
- Fluency in Pashto and Dari; basic English is an advantage.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office).
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Willingness to travel frequently to field locations.
