About Your Voice Organization (YVO):

Your Voice Organization (YVO) was established in March 2019 as a non-profit, non-political, and non-governmental organization, registered under the NGO laws of Afghanistan. It originated from the localization efforts of the Japan International Volunteer Center (JVC). YVO implements community-based humanitarian programs across sectors including education, food security and livelihoods, protection, ESNFI, and peacebuilding. Its interventions focus on vulnerable populations such as women, children, internally displaced persons (IDPs), returnees, and persons with disabilities and integrates safeguarding, accountability, and inclusion across its activities, with an emphasis on community-level engagement and capacity development.

Job Description:

The Livestock Trainer will provide technical training and ongoing field support to beneficiaries receiving dairy cows, aiming to improve livestock productivity, animal health, and sustainable income generation.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver training modules on livestock and dairy management.
  • Prepare training materials and support effective training delivery.
  • Provide regular field-based technical support and mentoring to beneficiaries.
  • Monitor livestock feeding, housing, hygiene, and milk production practices.
  • Support disease prevention, vaccination, and animal health management.
  • Identify livestock health issues and refer cases to veterinary services.
  • Promote improved livestock and dairy practices to increase productivity and farmer income.
  • Assist in beneficiary mobilization and coordination with communities.
  • Support distribution of livestock inputs and monitor their proper use.
  • Maintain records of trainings, livestock performance, and field visits.
  • Support MEAL team in data collection and monitoring activities.
  • Prepare regular reports, including progress updates and technical findings.
  • Provide basic business guidance (record keeping, income tracking, market linkages).
  • Participate in meetings and coordination with stakeholders.
  • Promote and ensure a safe and respectful environment for all beneficiaries.
  • Actively implement and adhere to organizational safeguarding policies.
  • Report any safeguarding concerns through YVO’s established procedures.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science, Animal Production, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in livestock/dairy management.
  • Experience in farmer training and NGO projects preferred.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in Pashto and Dari; English is an asset.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in rural and remote areas.
