HealthNet TPO is a Netherlands based not for profit, non-governmental organization founded on the principle that access to affordable quality health care is a basic human right.

In 1992 HealthNet TPO was established by ‘Doctors without Borders’ to bridge the gap between emergency aid and structural development. The organization is now the result of a merger between HealthNet International (HNI) and the Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO). HNI has knowledge and experience in reinforcing healthcare systems and prevention, diagnosis and treatment of transmissible diseases. TPO is an expert in the field of psychosocial and mental health care for survivors of war and natural disasters.  HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is managed by a team of qualified Afghans and supported by a team of experts at the HQ of the organization in Holland.

HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. HealthNet TPO is currently implementing projects in almost 20 provinces of Afghanistan and the major program it implements are HER (Health Emergency Response) projects in three provinces, Nutrition, Mental Health and Psychosocial, Malaria Control program, Tuberculous....... through a community system strengthening approach.

Job Description:

Stock & Inventory Management
•    Strengthen the management of medicine, medical supplies, and laboratory items at both the provincial and health facility levels.
•    Ensure the health facility pharmacy and main stock areas are clean, well-organized, and optimized according to industry standards.
•    Perform a physical inventory count after every supply delivery and at the end of each month or quarter.
•    Identify and investigate any discrepancies between distribution records and physical inventory in coordination with the Pharmacy Officer.
•    Maintain up-to-date stock records in the computer system and ensure all stock cards (in, out, donations, expirations) are updated immediately.
•    Follow FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out) and FIFO (First-In, First-Out) protocols strictly.
Receiving & Distribution
•    Receive and verify medicine, medical supplies, and lab items from suppliers according to contract terms, ensuring all items are recorded on stock cards.
•    Pack and distribute medical supplies to health facilities based on approved packing lists.
•    Inspect and count all incoming shipments received from Kabul or other health facilities.
Quality Control & Safety
•    Monitor and report near-expiry drugs to the line manager to ensure timely use or donation and prevent waste.
•    Record fridge and stock room temperature and humidity levels daily.
•    Ensure stock security and regularly check the electrical systems within the storage area.
•    Manage the stock of near-expiry items by prioritizing their use or donation and keeping the Stock Officer/Pharmacy Manager informed.
Leadership & Oversight
•    Supervise all personnel working within the stock room and at HFs level.
•    Take responsibility for preventing stock-outs at both the main office and health facilities.
•    Support the Pharmacy Officer with any related duties and perform additional tasks assigned by the supervisor or Head Quarter team
