About Concern Worldwide- Afghanistan:

Concern Worldwide is a non-governmental, international, humanitarian organization dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries. Currently, Concern has been working in Afghanistan since 1998, when it responded to an earthquake disaster in Takhar province. Currently Concern has been working in Takhar and Badakhshan provinces undertaking both emergency response and long-term developmental work in the areas of livelihood security, primary education and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene. 

Job Description:

Main duty and Responsivity:

Community Mobilisation and Group Formationبسیج سازی جامعه و تشکیل گروپ

  • Mobilise communities for participation in livelihood, agriculture, livestock, and NRM activities. بسیج سازی جامعه که در فعالیت های معیشت, زراعتی و منابع طبعی شرکت کند
  • Facilitate the establishment and functioning of: سهورت آوری در تاسیس گروپ های ذیل
    • Livestock Owner Groups گروپ دامداری
    • Farmer-Producer Groupsگروپ دهاقین- تولید کننده
    • Women’s Affinity Groups / Self‑Help Groups گروپ کمک های خودی
    • Water Management Committees (WMCs) and NRM User Associations

گروپ مدیریت آب و استفاده کننده های منابع طبعی

  • Support inclusion of women, IDPs, returnees, and vulnerable households in project activities.

  • Conduct community integration dialogues to promote social cohesion and inclusion.

2. Support to Livelihood and Income‑Generating Activities

  • Support community‑level implementation of:
    • Kitchen gardens, greenhouses, backyard poultry, sheep and goat rearing.
    • High‑value vegetable cultivation and fruit orchards
    • Improved livestock rearing practices, fodder cultivation, and silage preparation
  • Assist in identifying beneficiaries for livelihood inputs, training, and support packages.کمک در تشخیص مستفیدین
  • Support demonstrations and follow‑up at the household and group level to ensure adoption of improved practices. حمایت از نمایشات و پیگیری آن در سطح خانواده ها
  • Assist farmers and livestock owners in seed production, seedling nursery raising, and compost/bio‑fertiliser preparation.کمک به دهاقین در تولید و پرورش نهال ها

 

3. Training, Awareness, and Capacity Buildingآموزش, آگاهی و ظرفیت سازی

  • Mobilise participants for training on:
    • Financial literacy and enterprise development
    • Nutrition awareness, household hygiene, and water purification
    • Sustainable agriculture, livestock, and climate‑resilient practices
  • Support the delivery of training by technical staff and ensure community understanding.حمایت از ارایه ای آموزش ها توسط کارمندان مسلکی
  • Conduct regular follow‑up visits to reinforce learning and good practices.

4. Natural Resource Management and Infrastructure Support

  • Support WMCs/NRM Associations in:
    • Sustainable soil and water conservation practices
    • Resource monitoring and maintenance
    • Dialogues on equitable access rights
  • Mobilise communities for implementation of Water Management Plans (WMPs), including canal cleaning, water reservoir ponds, through cash‑for‑work activities.
  • Support participatory appraisals related to water use, agriculture, and resource sustainability.

 

5. Market Linkages and Value Addition (Community Level)

  • Support community engagement in collective marketing initiatives facilitated by Livelihood Officers.
  • Assist Producer Groups and women’s groups in basic understanding of markets, demand, and pricing.
  • Support community‑level post‑harvest handling, storage, and processing activities where applicable.

 

6. Gender, Inclusion, and Community Engagementجنسیت , شمولیت و مشارکت جامعه   

  • Identify and support female community facilitators.
  • Promote women’s participation in livelihood and economic activities.
  • Assist in organising FGDs with WMC Inclusion Taskforces.
  • Support engagement of community and religious leaders to encourage inclusive participation.

 

7. Coordination, Reporting, and Accountabilityهماهنگی, گذارش دهی و شفافیت

  • Act as the primary link between communities and project staff.
  • Maintain simple records of meetings, group activities, beneficiaries, and feedback.
  • Report community issues, risks, and success stories to the Livelihood Support Officer.
  • Support accountability mechanisms, including community feedback and complaints referral.

Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS):

  • The concern is committed to CHS to ensure downward accountability. CHS standards guide Concern activities in all stages both emergency and development projects /programs. In Afghanistan, we also bounded our activities by Accountability framework and therefore any Afghanistan employees is responsible to comply with CHS principles and benchmarks as instructed by its policies and therefore make sure that all accept and implement CHS standards in all our activities.
  • To give full support in relation to emergencies/ humanitarian operations when occurring in any area that Concern Afghanistan will respond. This can include but is not limited to participation in the Concern Afghanistan Rapid Deployment Unit (CARDU) and deployment on emergency response teams

Job Requirements:

  • Qualifications & Experience:
  • At least a university degree (Literature, Social Science, BBA or relevant qualification) + two years’ Experience.
  • Good knowledge of community development components, DRR, Watershed and cash for work process.
  • 2-3 Years of experience working with communities in remote settings, particularly in community mobilization, participatory exercises, committee establishment and capacity building.
  • Experience in problem solving.
  • Proficiency in applying PLA tools and approaches.
  • Basic skills in MS Word and Excel.
  • Experience in community mobilization
